When you go on a diet, they bring sugar free desserts. When you need money, they bring gift cards. When you need a new computer they bring you their old one. When you want to get a buff body, they bring you an excercise tape. Why then, if my new years resolution is to become a hard core alcoholic, won't people bring me booze, wine or hooch of any sort? This is really vexing me??

I am sad, I know it, i have 4 kids and a hubby fighting a war against a man who was hung a few weeks ago. My resolution is to survive this mess, and I thought a good bottle or two of hooch would help out (once the kids are fast asleep of course) but NO ONE is giving me any booze. MAN I have to sponsor this craziness out of my own pocket? What the heck? and for those of you who would bring if I shared, OH, I will share, misery after all does love company.

Sorry, I doubt if anyone would want to partake in this resolution.

The other examples you gave are about improvement. Your resolution to drink yourself into poor health and possibly death are not improvements. Maybe your friends should take you to AA where you will learn first hand about the effects of alcohol on a person physically, emotionally, and socially.

All I can say is life is rough. Instead of alcohol, wouldn't it be best to just give you a shovel to dig your grave instead? Have you really looked at the homeless drunks in the downtown area? You know the ones, that live behind and in dumpsters?

My dad was an alcoholic, and now he is in AA. It is really sad when parents drink like that. Your kids will notice something, your alcoholism will affect them, even if you never drink in front of them. My dad never drank in front of me, but my life was still hell. I'm praying for you and your family. I hope it gets better. : )

you need to call them more and tell them to bring a bottle... maybe that is it, they don't have a bottle.
