Here is the problem: I am such a shy person. I don't have too many interests, and I'm not very witty. I have been with my gf for awhile now, and I don't understand how she puts up with me. I never have much to say, but I love her and her daugher so much. There are times when we just sit there and say nothing. I've asked her about all this, and surprisingly, she says that whenever she thinks about me, she smiles. She says that she doesn't know how I can be with her. She is insecure too. She says that she loves me, but how? She is not the funnest person either, but when she talks to some of her friends, I notice that she smiles and laughs alot. I wish I can make her laugh like her friends do. She seems to have so many stories to tell about her life, but I never have much to say because I've had a bad past. I do sweet things for her such as interact with her daughter (I'm always fun with her daughter), take her out, and take care of her when she's sick. Can we survive?

You will absolutely survive.

You both have found something special in each other - something that many people never find and hope for.

Any relationship can work as long as the two people involved love each other, are completely committed to one another, and have the utmost respect for themselves and their relationship.

Sounds like you may need to open up a bit tho, even if you have a horrible past. Mine isn't rosey, lemme tell ya, but the bond grows oh so much stronger when you are intimately sharing yourself with that #1 person in your life. She would appreciate it too.

Yes. My husband never shuts up and I never talk. He's very friendly to everybody and I don't trust anybody. It's a balancing act. Can you imagine if we both were talkers? If would drive both of us insane. But being that he's the big mouth, it's great for me because I can continue being as quiet and private as I want.

Of course they can! One talks, the other listens, theoretically. Although I can't seem to figure out from your Q who the talker is, and who the non-talker is. There's plenty more fun things in life than talking.

Of course! I talk circles around my husband, and we have been married for over twenty years!! I come from a family of big-mouths, so it was actually a relief being with someone so quiet. It has taught me to slow down.

Honey, she LOVES you because you ARE simply lovable! She sees things in you that you would be suprised to know. She wants you in her life, so just ACCEPT it! :-)

Definitely. So long as you respect each other for your differences, and appreciate what you each do for each other, then you can absolutely make a successful relationship and life together.

It sounds like you love each other. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
