As treasurer of a small, informal club, how do I verbally remind members to pay their dues at a meeting without sounding rude or too formal?

Assuming you have a set date for dues payments, I would just toss out a friendly reminder to the entire group the meeting before- hey, next week is dues week!. Or, if you have a newsletter, use it. You could also tie it to soemthing fun.. like a potluck... hey, next week is the potluck & dues night. The big thing is not to single any one or a few people out, even if it's only a few people that haven't paid.
If there's a person or two that consistantly isn't paying dues, pull them aside to address the problem.

Im president of a club in college, its SUPER hard. I sent out emails to everyone and said that dues are due this date by this time. The ones that didnt pay are off the active list now

Bring it up during the meeting, not necessarily singling anyone out. Also stress the importance of the funds required to keep the club going.

Just say, By the way all dues are due on the 1st of each month, something like that. Or you could put a sign.

Mention that if they don't pay dues, they'll have to pay them at the next meeting. At the next meeting meet people at the door and ask them for the money before they enter.

set a date for payments. when they pay put part away for a small party. If they don't pay there is no, snacks when there are offered. because they did not pay dues
