Let the air out of all the tires... Contact towing companies and see if they will do it at the owner of the car's expense. Have sign made up to that effect "Reserved, all others will be towed at their expense, call xxxx Towing at xxx xxx xxxx".

Does the unit not have a sign saying assigned parking only?..all others will be towed at car owners expense?

that is very common here. And yes..if a car is parked in my spot when i get home..i wait a few min to see if the come out..and then shoot a dirty look..say it's my spot..there is parking on the road for you....

or i have the option of having a tow truck called..and whoever owns the car must pay for it..not me.
You could also put your own sign by your spot..no parking..private parking..or reserved parking..

it is such an inconsideration when someone parks on a unit spot..knowing full well.someone..pays to have that spot..sheeshh..some people!!!1

You should report it to your management. Technically the spot isn't 'yours' as it is the property of the management and they should be able to get it towed. I'm assuming you have allotted spots for your parking and that is supposed to either be included in your rent or you pay additionally for it so it is the managements problem. Let them know you need it taken care of or you should not have to pay for the spot either way. Another option (i have the same issue sometimes since i have the spot nearest the door) is to request a different spot. I would also suggest to take down make/models and license plates numbers so that you can give those to the management as well so they can check to see who the car/s belong to and speak with them directly.

I'm sure the laws are different in Australia than they are in the USA. I also live in a development where parking is assigned, and hate when someone takes my space. But, I was once guilty of the same thing- parking where I shouldn't. I stopped doing it after my car was turned sideways in the spot, obviously by a group of guys who could pick it up and turn it. I wouldn't suggest turning someone's car around so they couldn't get out of their space, but it probley would send a message.

Contact your landlord and ask to see if he/she will put up a sign that states to park in your designated spot or your car will be towed. That way, you are not liable for any damages.

Is it ‘your' spot that is designated to you or is it just a spot you park in all the time. If it is yours then talk to the unit manager and have them handle it because you rent pays for that spot. If it isn't then there isn't much you can do.

1. Complaint to the management of the rental unit.
2. Leave tacks in that spot
3. Leave those annoying sticker notes on windows that take an act of God to get off.
4. watch and see what apartment they go into or out of.
5. take another spot.

Speak to your landlord or whoever you rent from. They can have the vehicle towed for you or fine the residents whom they are visiting

Leave a big oil slick spill on the slab so that they'll not want to stay there again.
