I am against spitting in general. It's gross and discussing. No one should do it. Usually it is done by guys. But lately, I've noticed a new trend of black girls and women spitting.
The other day, a young black girl opened the bus window to spit. I've seen this older black woman who was all decked out in very professional work clothing spit as well. The spitting just made her look ridiculous as it didn't go along with her look.
Now I've waited to build my argument until I saw it 3 more times after I started to notice it. It has happened often enough that it is now starting to look like some new fad. Why are black girls and women now spitting? Does anyone know? Is there some new pop-star/artist setting this new discussing standard?
Have you noticed this? What do you think?

Every one spits. I know men do it alot. I never do it in public. If I do spit it's in my toilet. Like I said I think it is discusting when anyone spits. I've just noticed in public that Black Girls and Women are doing this... so much more that it's noticable. Once or twice I might not even care. But it's been more than that! EVERYONE: STOP SPITTING!

I tell my sisters to stop spitting all the time. I don't know where they picked that nasty habbit up from. It's like they are trying to compete with their brothers... Hmmmmm Nasty. I'm sure it can be a health issue too. If you must spit, do it on the dirt or flower bed or grass... not right at the bus stop bench where I sit and have to look at it! People are hacking up some f#&$ed-up Sh@*. Makes me wonder how healthy yall are!!

Sorry, but I have no answer for your question, snce I've not noticed this. Spitting is one of the nastiest things a person can do, as far as I'm concerned. I've been in a few situations where a 'spitter' has been standing in one place for awhile and there are all these little wet spots all over the ground around them.
Yes, we all may need to expel something, sometime, but I'll be hawking that nasty 'lugie' (don't even know if I spelled that right since I've so few opportunities to use that gross term in a sentence) into a tissue, toilet, or sink in the most discrete, private way possible.
And I'm sorry, but I agree that this is NOT a racist question, if that is what the questioner has really observed! Everyone is preaching 'diversity'. Why can't we ask questions?
African Americans, go ahead and ask me why white people let their children curse them in public. Truth is, I don't know. But, I admit that it seems to be 'a white thing'.

I'm a black female and I don't spit at all. I think it looks very bad for any woman or any girl to spit, especially out in public. We as women and girls need to carry ourselves in a dignified way. I have never seen this myself, but I'm sure other women of races have done so. You may have just seen it more with black women and girls.

I noticed this habit a while ago but I noticed it with white men who get that stuff from their throats, and then I noticed a lot of young men who think it's cool to spit and I saw one black girl spit and everyone looked at her like she was crazy. She never even noticed. I think spitting is a trend but I always noticed nasty white men blowing snot out of their noses and then wiping it with a handkerchief. I think any one who spits are some of the nastiest people, who wants to look at someones body discharge. It is as bad as looking at a turd on the side walk. I notice white men so explain that.

I think you are on to something, I mean you saw three black people spitting, it's a epidemic. I mean 3 people is what percentage of the black race. You should go public and tell everyone, oh that's right you just did.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this. I'm always behind the person in the car who opens their door wide and hocks one right into the street below their car door. I thought it was just a Florida thing, but I can see some people across the nation are just nasty. Do they think people can't see them? Are they married and don't care anymore? Are they still single and don't care anymore?

A lot of people spit to act "tough" but they're just being rude... but I assure you that whites do it too. =/ I go to a school where 95% of kids are white, and the only ones I see spit are them.

I agree spitting is gross, I have no idea why people of color do this, I will take notice now since I live in a highly "colored" part of the country and see if you are right in your observation.

I spit when I have congestion to get it out of my body. I go to the bathroom to do it. Not in public.
