The people behind me in the grocery line had all empty packages, etc. Like they ate their meal / drinks while shopping and then just paid for the empty wrappers. Is this odd or what?

i was wondering why do people tailgate? even if there isnt a lane open, someone who is tailgating could smash into the car ahead of them causing an explosion or killing the person or other persons ahead of that car. i was driving 10 miles above the speed limit recently and a young girl was tailgating me and wouldnt stop. i was temped to tell her she could kill someone this way. but perhaps tailgaters do not know they can murder someone, including themselves. so i was just wondering why people do this, evben when the person is going at a good speed.

My boyfriends parents are paying for the lunch afterwards and since we don't have alot of money they are asking me to send invitations only to certain family members but not others. The family members that they don't want to invite are sure to find out they weren't invited because the family is extremely close. And it just so happens the the ones that are being left out are the most gossipy!! I feel like I'm being put on the spot since it's my daughter's baptism and I know I'll be the one getting asked why they weren't invited. Is it rude to just ask that everyone pay for their own lunch so that I can invite the whole family? Help I need to send the invitations out today!!

Why do people tip housekeepers at hotels? Who is the tip supposed to be for - the person who cleaned it before you got there or the person who cleans it when you leave? How much of a tip should people leave?

How dare they call you by your first name! I wonder how many guys have gotten in trouble with wivies or girlfriends by telemarketers asking for them and saying this is 'Linda". Next time one of them calls me by my first name I am going to ask them for theirs and tell them to take a flying leap off a short plank!

I went to private school and I plan on sending my children to private school as well. (and by private school, I don't mean catholic school)

Each and every time my husband or I mention this in conversation we are met with the same annoying responses

-"but WHY? P.S. such and such has such small classes it's just like a private school..." Yeah, um OK. That does NOT make it anything like a private school!

-"but your kids will be in with a bunch of snobby rich kids..." As opposed to offspring of all of the town drunks, absentee parents, and the teenage gun toting gang members

-"i know a kid who went to private school and he didn't get into college..."

It's so frustrating!!! Do you have any witty comebacks for these folks? Granted I understand they are just being defensive. I think they think that if we send our kid to private school it's saying that the education their child is getting is substandard. But still, any tips to get these folks to SHUT UP!!!!

I noticed more recently on the new broadcast that people have been outside of funeral homes protesting such things crime, war and even personal beliefs. Cant people even mourn loved ones without outsiders making it a side show. If you have an opinion on it then write a letter and post it in the paper. Leave the families alone and use your time protesting the funeral homes until another day or another situation to get noticed. When does the freedom of speech go too far? If you dont believe in abortions, pray for them.If you dont like blacks or jews, then quit hiding behind white sheets and move to a deserted island or stay in the woods cut off from the world. If you dont like war, politicians, rich people, global warming, taxes, your job, gays, aides, research of stem cells or anything that makes you unhappy or uncomfortable look at it this way. Someone out there probably doesnt think much of you either but, have they tried to start an uproar over it? Let people live on like they please

I’d like to go out to a restaurant for dinner but am running a little low on cash. I’ve always heard a restaurant will provide a meal as long as you compensate by washing dishes for an agreed period of time.

I’m thinking of going somewhere like a Chili’s for the $9.99 trio special. I think 1.5 hours of washing dishes afterward will be fair.

Do I tell the waiter or waitress about this before or after the meal?

I was invited to my ex-boyfriends wedding. We are still close friends. I am not attending, because it would be uncomfortable since the bride to be is not a fan of my friendship with her husband to be. So do I send a gift? If so any suggestions?

I don't want to offend her, and we've only been there a few weeks, but there have been several reasons that make me uncomfortable about leaving the kids with her.
My gut says not to be honest, and just say something vague, but what should I say?
How can i tell her I'mnot coming back without offending her too badly?

Does anyone else find it rude when you are talking to someone, their cell phone rings, and they pick it up and start talking, leaving you hanging there for a few minutes?

What is a good way to hint to someone proper etiquette who chronically suffers from this condition?

My fiance and I recently broke up. She now wants to keep the ring and has taken it and put it into a safe deposit box I cannot access. In the beginning of our break-up, she said she would return the ring. Now she has obviously changed her mind. I would like the ring back or compensation for it if she's going to keep it. I live in California where I've read small claims have usually ruled in favor of the "giver" and not necessarily to the "givee" if the break-up was mutual and to the lesser extent her inclination. Any advice?

Many times we try to adapt to surroundings though, at home our practices may be different. It is better we learn the right ways of doing things.
