The people behind me in the grocery line had all empty packages, etc. Like they ate their meal / drinks while shopping and then just paid for the empty wrappers. Is this odd or what?

Depends on how hungry they were.

Yes, that's odd. I can understand opening a single package of cookies or drinks, but 'all' empty packages, that's very weird, what did they do? Is it possible they were store employees having their lunch in a back room, when maybe there had been very long lines at the registers at the start of their break. If all registers were already open it wouldn't have helped if they'd gone on break later, but it would help if they paid for their lunch items at a more quiet time. Seems like the only sensible explanation I can come up with.

I've never gone up to the register and paid for ALL empty wrappers. But I have picked up like one of those Starbucks Double Shot things, drank it whilst grocery shopping, and then paid for the empty can when I was paying for my groceries. Sometimes a caffine or food fix can't wait till you get to the car! Haha :-)

This is strange behavior. It shows a lack a planning and immature behavior.

I have never done it and don't need to. I have plenty of self control. If I wish to do my shopping while not hungry then I would eat before going to the store.

In my opinion it seems kinda lacking of class.

I used to be a cashier at a supermarket. I live in a college town, so I would see this all the time. When I first encountered it I did find it rather strange. But I have grown accustomed to it. At least they are paying for it, as opposed to eating it and walking out the store.

Don't think it's odd. When I was younger I would see my Mom eat some grapes from a bag she was buying. I thought it was normal.

What you didn't see was all the crap they had stuffed in their orifices and their underwear.
