One Thanksgiving, I deliberately heaped piles of crunchy dried fallen leaves two feet thick on the walkway so that my guests would HAVE to scrunch and crunch their way to the front door.
It was universally enjoyed!

Natural leaves out in the woods yes, but when it's a carefully raked pile I'll contain myself. It'd be rude to scatter their pile and undo their hard work!

Yes. I've always imagine being dropped from a roof to fall onto a pile of leaves.

Yeah...that's actually pretty fun. Then you can kick them all over the ground, play in them, and make the person who has to rake them really mad (which, as a child...was me). :o) I guess you gotta take the good with bad.
