No, they use spoons. Chopsticks aren't used to eat soup. Duh! What a stupid, not very serious, question.

It depends on the soup and the setting. For noodles, they use chopsticks for the solids and then drink the broth from the bowl. But for more upscale restaurants with soups like hot and sour soup, they use a spoon. They never use both chopsticks and spoon.

No. Many of my Chinese friends use spoons for soup. However, it is considered appropriate manners to drink soup from the bowl. Chopsticks are used to eat things which may be grasped by them.

In cultures that use chopsticks, soup is usually sipped directly from the bowl. Sometimes a shorter spoon scoop is used.

sometimes chopsticks will be used to pick out some of the vegetables or the noodles that may be in the soup, but in general, they have a small laddle that they use to have soup.

Yes, they drill long narrow holes through their chopsticks and use them as straws to drink the soup.

I'm not Chinese, but I think they do. Their soups (correct me if wrong) are broth with chunks in them (wantons or w/e) and they use chopsticks to eat the solids, and drink the broth.

I think they use normal, iron spoons these days. But the traditional Chinese spoons are made of stone, with nice decorations on them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_soup_spoon
