Hello. I am looking for reasons as to why an average high school student would be late to class. I am using this for an assignment, and need a lot of people to respond to make it a success. I will give out lots of points for the best answer(s). Thanks. Tell your friends to post as well !

Flat tire, other car problems.
Dropped your books/papers and people kicked them around the hall so it took a while to clean them up.
You were ill.
You had to check in with your mom because of your sick grandma.
Someone spilled something all over your shirt so you had to go change.
Traffic jam
You were a witness to an accident and had to fill out a report.
You had to go talk to another teacher about a homework assignment.

Missed the bus, car broke down, cat (or dog) was having kittens (puppies) and wanted to see how many she'd have, power went out so alarm never went off, missed the bus, long line at Starbucks, ripped pants before I left and had to change, wreck that tied-up traffic, broke glasses and had to find old pair (or lost contact lens and had to find old glasses), little brothers (or sisters) pet turtle died and had to attend the funeral, hair dryer broke and could leave home with wet hair, lost my favorite ring down the drain and had to wait for a plumber, had to sober-up first... (LOL!!)

1) Migraine or back pain
2) Feeling ill
3) Ride to school (i.e., parent) overslept
4) Dog/cat got out and had to go retrieve it so it wouldn't get hit by car
5) Had insomnia and couldn't sleep all night. When finally fell asleep, didn't hear alarm go off and apparently mother came in and shut if off and told me to get up, but I didn't remember that and fell back to sleep
6) Heavy traffic
7) Little sister was in the way, slowing me down
I don't know - I was usually on time to school when I was in high school. I am giving you things that I have heard my son use as excuses (he is in high school).

you had to help a group of little old ladies cross the street but because there is only 1 of you, you had to cross each one individually, by the time you got the last one across, the first one was ready to come back and you had to start the whole process over again.

They woke up late
They didnt have a ride that day
They had to go to the office for something
Their locker wouldnt open
They had to go to the bathroom, and not only P, but smoke...lol

Late because there was a fight in the hallway and it was blocked.
Your locker was jammed.
You tripped and hit your head on the floor and were dazed for a few minutes.

let see talking to friends in the hall, going to the bathroom, they half to go to their locker to get their books, got held over by one of their other teachers from the previouse class
