that when you enter in yahoo!answers from Mexico or USA in Spanish they aren't like us wasting time talking about us in here in the same way many people do about them, perhaps they aren't talking trash about us, as I have seen many people in here doing so about them? Do we have something to learn from them? I think we should. I know, I know, I'll have to read the stupidities of few gnats-brained people, but I don't give a damn. That just will make my point of view and my position stronger.

Hi! Um, moral question here. If I'm at school, and I have nothing to do, and school wont begin for another 30 minutes, is it okay to surf the net??? .... What about INNOCENTLY trying to breach the blocking system???

It was in the news today that some companies are afraid to put up Christmas decorations in case they would insult non-christian workers....are we taking political correctness a bit too far?

Here's the deal... my mother comes to my house to babysit my kids once and a while ( for an hour or 2) while I go to appointments (dentist, optometrist, doctor). When I come home, my house is ripped apart, and my office is a mess because she sits in there on my computer and lets my boys do whatever they please (then my husband yells at me for his office being trashed). She's coming tomorrow to babysit for a bit longer, I have a dentist appointment, and she's making me take her mother (my grandmother) shopping because my mom can't stand my grandmother. Anywho, how do I tactfully and tastefully let her know that the kids are not to be in the office, and neither is she?

Just checking the modern etiquette!! The bride and groom were married in the summer and no thank you notes have been sent...we personally don't really care, but maybe some might, especially the grandparents who were far more generous than normal..any feedback?

Should I write a Thank You note for receiving a Christmas Bonus? If the Bonus is an item rather than "a check"? What is appropriate?

She throws herself
on top her bed
and cries about
the day that's been
the more she thinks
the worse her thoughts
she cries and wishes
she were dead
her friends think her life
is just fine
and won't put their view
into mine
she's depressed and emo
thinks she's fat
ugly, unhealthy
and **** like that
the two best people
moved away
their daddy molested her
in seventh grade
the school day's fine
but when she's home
she locks herself
up in her room
for if she don't
he mom will fight
step dad will say
you be quiet
her feelings hurt
she starts to cry
and thinks about
what's wrong inside
in the bathroom
weeping softly
shaking, sniffling
can't stop coughing
start to panic
hard to breath
think all bout
"what's wrong with me?"
One day she
will find a rope
and tie a knot
that might bring hope
standing on the chair
looks up and smiles deeply
nothing can stop her now

Why is it?

That most questions asked on Yahoo Answers appear to be written by people who cannot spell, have no knowledge of grammar and have difficulty in asking any form of question without recourse to expletives? (and have no idea how to spell)

Also have you noticed the number of people who ask for medical advice? Why would you ask a serious medical question on some thing like Answers? What’s wrong with a Doctor?

Last but by no means least, many people ask questions, the answers, to which they could well find by just doing a bit of research on the net. They just appear to be too lazy to bother.

Now I am sure I will get a lot of abusive replies just because some people will think it’s old fashioned to act in an intelligent and polite manner, but there are many intelligent people out there who I am sure will understand my reasoning. Lets start a revolt for common sense and good manners.

Why should they keep their mouths shut? Why shouldn't they insult people? If they are no longer afraid of getting punched because we've become more civilized as a people, then what's stopping them from randomly insulting people? What's stopping me, what's stopping you from randomly insulting people if it isn't getting your fear of getting punched?

How about a commie swearing in on Mien Kamph ?? or a joker like me swearing in on a stack of Mad magazines or comic books?? I think some things are sacred, as our country bases (Though sometimes quite loosely) our moral compass on the Bible..

Please place yourself in each of the following 3 situations.
How would you respond to each and why?
1. A school age boy comes to your door selling candy bars.
He's raising money for his class to go on a field trip.

2. The cashier at your local market asks you if you'd like to
donate a dollar to some charity, in exchange for getting your
name on a little piece of paper in the window.

3. A mother of 2 young children takes the only job offered to her, in her town. A minimum wage, telemarketing type thing. Only it's not selling anything. It's raising money for terminally ill children to get their last dying wish. She's assigned a child to try to help and given a list of computer generated phone numbers to call, in your area,
because the chld lives in your town. She calls you, explains what
is going on, and asks for a $5.00 contribution to help the child.

I am a terrible person.

Let me explain. I was married almost a year ago. I had a shower and received presents from the wedding itself. I had two lists, one shower and one wedding list. The shower list I placed inside a gift box to transport home. Upon arriving I discovered that my mother had moved it out of the gift box to another place where I would be less likely to lose it. Unfortunately, it either fell out or was thrown away (me not knowing where it was) because it never turned up. We moved the week after our wedding and the second list was lost in the move.

I found the second list six months later and wrote the thank you cards (already horrifically late). However, many of the people on the second list were friends with people on the first list and I didn't want to send you thank you cards to only half as they might discuss it and feel left out. We were moving in a couple of weeks and I thought we would find the list then. We didn't. It has now been a year.

I think it is just about the most inappropriate thing you could wear; a woman that I know (that I consider to be an attention whore-but I digress) wore white from head to toe at a funeral; just wondering if anyone else finds this wrong.

At our company Xmas party 10 out of 150 guests "won" prizes or gifts ranging from $50 to $200 gift certificates. After that our human resoures manager asked them to donate their gifts to a needy family that our company is sponsoring this year. The employees of our company have already donated a percentage of our paychecks to this family which our company did not match. so therefore our company has done nothing for this family while the employees already have. Now, since this was in front of 150 people, of course the employees who '"won" the gifts felt obligated to donate them. Do you think it was proper of our human resources manager to put these people on the spot like that? By the way, I wasnt one of them, only an observer.

What woman sits on the seat without looking at it first (or am I weird)? Why don't guys insist that women leave it up?

2006-12-05 17:27:10 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous

I work as a telefundraiser. That means I call people and try to raise money for a non profit charity. I get paid minimum wage to sit there and do what the non profit charity can't get volunteers to do 6 days a week, 8 hours a day. The charity is a very legitimate one. It's nationally recognised. If it weren't for me and my coworkers, the charity wouldn't be able to help very many people.
What I don't understand is this... why are people so rude to me when I call ? I get hung up on by some before they even find out what I'm calling about. Or, I get hung up on during the middle of a sentence. Sometimes I even get called nasty names.
Why can't people at least be polite and say "I'm sorry. I'm just not interested in helping those people." or "Helping people just isn't my thing. Sorry." ?

At work everyone's doing Secret Santas, and my problem is that (because of personal financial problems) I don't have a penny to spend on anything. Even with my family we've decided not to share gifts this year because we really can't afford it.

The problem is that everyone at work is doing it, and they've already given me the person I'm supposed to buy a gift for. The expected price for a gift is $20! (which seems like a high price to pay for someone I'm not even close with).

What are some things I could give her, hopefully a little cheaper than 20 bucks, without looking stingy, and perhaps something that might look as if it could possibly be worth $20.

We tip them ALOT (or at least I do), whenever we are there. It doesn't matter who is working we are generous with all of them.

Yeah, whenever I do find myself being treated like a wall or tree, that's when I break out the rude insults, and then they will talk to me forever. But when I try to play simple and sincere, they treat me like dirt.
I'm a guy, and I have this problem exlusively with female friends, "NOT FEMALES I WISH TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH'.
