I'm not asking if Muslims are violent. I'm asking if Islam is an inherently violent religion. I would probably say yes, because the foremost prophet in Islam (Muhammed) was a warlord who encouraged violence.

I will ask you this and you must think hard, if you want the true answer.

Are Atheists Questioning God or The Bible?

People will tell you that they are the same thing!

But your question has arisen inside them!

Do you really think that the words of men and a book written by men could ever represent the true God!

If you Lost your religion then would you not find your true faith!

And then maybe we could all live a lot happier together.

Maybe even the Atheists would find a little faith too.

this question is for the fundamentalist christians who don't believe in evolution? when you learned about evolution in high school did you ever roll your eyes and shout out, "evolution is just a theory!" i guess, the same question goes to younger fundamentlists who haven't started high school yet. when you take biology class and you have to learn about evolution, will you express your disaproval of evolution?

...day and night for the rest of his life (assume this time period is 70 years) in my basement, would this be ethical or just or right? Think of the worst tortue imaginable for a human being to endure. If the answer is no, how can I justify believing in a God who would continue this tortue for eternity if the man never believed in Jesus? If Jesus was alive today, could you replace me with him in this scenario and have a different answer?

Just so everyone understands...I'm not an atheist. This is a difficult question, but I am still a follower of Jesus (I'm open to the idea that we got Jesus' teaching wrong on this subject though). That said, PLEASE stick to the question itself and try and provide a well-thought out, emotionally calm answer to a very difficult question of the faith.

The Acceptable Time

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

— 2 Corinthians 6:2

Some people will say the reason they are not Christians is that it is just not their time yet. They don't think they are ready.

That would be like someone who is drowning in the middle of the ocean saying to the lifeguard, "I am not ready yet." What part of dead do they not understand? I would say that if you are drowning, then you are ready for salvation.

Unbelievers are in a worse state than a person who is drowning, because they are separated from God by their sin. If they are wondering when they should come to Jesus Christ, the time is right now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Not next month. It's right now. God says, "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2).

This is the acceptable time. We don't know how long it will last. There is coming a day when Jesus Christ will return to this earth for His people. There is coming a day when He will catch all true believers up into heaven with Him. We call it the rapture of the church. It is that moment that we look forward to as Christians, when we will go to be with the Lord. It is described in Scripture as happening "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (2 Corinthians 15:52).

Now is the time when God is looking in grace upon those who are separated from Him by sin, and the gospel is going out to them. Now is the day of salvation.

My little cousin is 13 years old. She has been dressing like a boy since she was like 8. We all thought it would be something she would grow out of but she has just gotten worse. She recently cut her hair off really short and she even changed her myspace profile to male. I don't get it because she says gays are gross and she would NEVER be that way. Is she just in denial?? Is there something I should do to help her? I can see that she is getting REALLY depressed and she talks about dying and how she doesn't even want to be here.

(Shariah law and Islam are in direct opposition to secularism.)

Furthermore, why would you want to live in the UK or the US, or France etc?

As an atheist and supporter of secularism, I can't imagine anything worse than living in a theocracy (ie Saudi Arabia), hence I don't get why you would want to live somewhere that represents many (most?) of the things that your religion teaches against?

I mean no disrespect to your personally, although I do not approve of the Islamic faith.

Thanks in advance for your honest answers...

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August of 1892 and the words "under god" weren't added until 1954 after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus...a catholic organization. I think they should be taken out because they do not belong there or they would have been written in originally. If you think they should stay there how would you like it if it said under a different god that you don't believe in? Would you like your child reciting it in school?

I'm agnostic, but it's senseless stuff like this that makes me think athiests could be right! I know, some of you will say God works in "mysterious ways", or that "it was their time to go", but why create someone just to have them murdered! It puts a real strain on BLIND FAITH.

You would think GERMANY with the horrible past it has, having (along with many in the world) allowed HITLER to MURDER millions of JEWS, GYPSIES, HOMOSEXUALS, and the millions of others from all the nations it invaded, that it would have learned something about RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE, among many things.

I know some of the stories about the "CHURCH of SCIENTOLOGY", and about the behavior of some of its most famous MEMBERS, but whether a religion or a cult, as long as they do not commit murder, rape, robbery, etc., they must be left alone. They have a right as much as the MILLIONS of Muslims making Germany their home, whom are there to live, work, and practice their RELIGION.
