My younger sister is 20, but mentally she's around 6 years old. BUT she does have some understanding that's appropriate for her age. She understands, to a point, things that a 20 year old would, but for the most part, her comprehension level is that of a 6 year old.

She asked for a Bible for Christmas, and I'm not sure what kind I should get her. I know she wouldn't be able to comprehend an adult's Bible, but I feel a very youth-oriented one would be a bit TOO young for her. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, and God Bless.

They are from a mechanical print of a bushing. I believe it may be material and a grade b/c of where it's located on the title block.

I believe in His philosophy, I just find the physics defying part a bit hard to swallow. I wonder what documentary evidence there is for this.

...I don't mean the adopted Christian version...the REAL Pagan holiday?

What goes on, and how can one celebrate?

First, lets look at the relevant Islamic scripture -

Quran 4:34 “…and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them…” http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/004.qmt.html

Imagine your a pious Muslim who follows the Quran to the letter. Suppose one day, you feel very insecure, get paranoid, and through no fault of your wife, get the irrational fear that she might "desert" you. What does the Quran tell you to do - "Admonish" THEN "leave alone" THEN "beat her".

Notice how these are all straightforward commands that are triggered by the "fear of desertion". Now, once you beat her, doesnt your fear of her leaving you only increase? What must you do when you fear desertion...beat her again right? Therefore, the only thing that can stop this viscious circle of beating woman than make you feel insecure, is death.

FEAR OF DESERTION -> BEAT WOMAN -> MORE FEAR -> MORE ISLAMIC BEATING...DEATH

I've been invited to attend a three-day birthday celebration for a friend who is an internationally mobile business executive. This guy has EVERYTHING. I can hardly show up at the party empty handed....what do I get him that costs, say, between $500 and $1,000???? He's a wine lover, lover of golf and exotic cars.

i am 14, and a faithful baptist. one of my good friends are gay, she smokes, curses, and other sinful things. She's going through alot in her life, her dad abandoned her, her mom is gay, her step mom and mom think she is on drugs and having sex, and she isnt. she feels like there is no hope and said she wished she was dead/ i know that if only she turned to God, that things could get better. i know miracles happen but i really dont see her changing her sexual prefereances, and i believe its a sin. how can God help her if she isnt willing to sacrifice at lest that much. i know that if she would just turn to God that things would at least get on the right path. she cant talk to anyone bc its really hard for her to open up to ppl, so i am really glad that she has been talking to me. i dont want to shove my beliefs down her throat, but i dont know how to get started with helping her besides prayer. she posted this question....

I have a small question. I am a recent convert into the Catholic faith! I was walking with my Girlfriend holding here hand in the church and we passed infront of the Blessed Sacrament we both did our reverence but I didn't let go of her hand to do the sign of the cross. I used my left hand, she got really mad at me which I sorta see why cause it's the left hand but I was thinking is it really that bad is there any Cannon Law that states what hand to use? If so where is it in the Cathequesis.

A Christian friend told me that one day all the Christians will disappear because of raptors, and only heathens will be left on the planet. Why would any Christian look forward to this day? Also, doesn't the idea of raptors go against the whole creation theory? And what will guarantee only Christians will be eaten? I'd imagine a hungry dinosaur will probably eat whatever it wants.

first off, at my job on sundays, i'm the only non-hispanic person, fluent in english, and one of 2 women. our italian manager has sundays off. rudy is "in charge".

so yesterday, rudy answers the phone, the other girl and i are working the counter, and he hands me the phone and tells me to read the dinner specals to the person. ok. i grab my piece of paper and say "hi, you were looking for the dinner specials?" and the guy on the other end just goes OFF on me.
"i have no clue whats going on over there, i'm talking to a guy then i'm talking to you suddenly and he didnt tell me to hold or anything"
"i'm sorry sir, i was just handed the phone, i dont know what the other guy said to you."
and then this guy just goes crazy
"i'm a strong man and you wouldnt treat a strong man like that" and i'm just trying to get thru it all, and i'm like "i'm sorry, but were you looking for the dinner specials or our pizza specials?". you know, just trying to diffuse the situation. [more]

Recently I was sitting in my car at a grocery store. I have a bumper sticker on the back of my car expressing my religion. It does not demean any religion or anyone in any way. It is a very positive sticker. Yet the religion it expresses is somewhat unpopular with other religions.

So anyway this old man walks up to my car, he didn't know I was in it, he reads it and then spits on it.

What would you do in this situation?

I thought about and I should have gotten out my car and called him anti-American since he does not respect the first amendment.

The book of Acts and the entire writings of the Church fathers attest to the veracity of the Catholic Church. Now is your chance to prove the Bible and fathers wrong.

Be carefull - I am a early Church historian and former professor who learned history from Protestant Seminaries and study. I am not easily fooled by fanciful historical nonsense that is so common by those hating Christ's Church. I will give a best answer to anyone that can prove from history that the Catholic Church today is not the same Church as the Church of Acts and tell me who that Church was that Jesus said would endure until the Parousia. If there was no such Church then He must have lied. Prove that He did.

John 14

5Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

Acts 4

10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11He is
" 'the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the capstone.[a]'[b] 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
