I have been going to this church for about 2 months. I recently became a christian, so it is the first church I have belonged to. A lot of my friends want to come to my youthgroup this week. There are 3 of them that want to go. 2 have come in the past and the other really wants to have God in her life. I know everybody at the youthgroup, but I feel rude bringing so many people. There are 5 of us in all. DO you think it is rude?

Jesus preached to "Worship in Spirit" and that these are the kind of worshippers God seeks. He was speaking to the woman at Jacob's well.

Are you absolutely certain that Jesus did not show his own disciples privately how to Worship in Spirit and be the worshippers God seeks? I say this because this is exaccty how the Teacher-Disciple thing works... even today. Source: http://gospelenigma.com

If he did it privately, we wouldn't know a thing about it today.

So what do you say?

Are you ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that Jesus did not teach something quite important that you don't know anything about?

She's always saying things to my wife like, "you know, you really need to get your daughter baptized." Then, almost in the same breath, she tells her son (who is married to a Jewish woman) "I don't know what you see in that Jewish woman." LOL!!

Anyway, we just got a package in the mail, and it's a freaking Nativity Scene. There's no way I'm setting that stupid thing up.

My wife won't stand up to this garbage, and I've had enough. What should I do?

Hey guys - I just got a belated advent calendar from someone at work.

Do I scoff all 12 chocolates now so I'm up to date or do I take it home and share them out with my hubby who doesn't have an advent calendar because I wouldn't buy one?

We are told "Jesus died for our sins".
If this was the case, and there were such things as "sins", and if Jesus was the "only begotten son of God" why would God invent sins in the first place, if he then had to lose his "only begotten son" to rebalance the sin dilemma.
But, Christ did not die – he only changed from one energy form into another – and then changed back (resurrected) – so he didn't really die at all. That complicates it. Did he TECHNICALLY die so that is OK?

But, (the big one) why is there no record of when he came back where everyone was so joyful that all their sins had been saved? Surely, this would have been cause for the largest global celebration on Earth – but there wasn't any. There is no record of any celebration of this type anywhere on Earth. Why is that?? According to the bible, Jesus was virtually ignored by the multitudes after his resurrection - strange, isn't it?

Religions have not thought this through. It is just not logical

I just can't sleep at night wondering which ideology will have the biggest influence on them.
Most parents I know use Christianity to shape their children's minds, but how can I be sure this is right when there are so many other alternatives
Islam or Hinduism, Judaism or Scientology??
The list is endless
Which is the real god? Which religion is correct?
How can I be sure that I am not preaching my children lies?

Please help, I am very confused.

she is care free, has no hate or "darkness" in her heart. She loves art, reading, running, and using her emagination to have nothing but fun in life. She knows nothing of jesus or the word of god, only that its some silly story in a book. She doesnt understand why people must be confined into believing something so limiting instead of just having fun with life and being like her, care free.

She died in an accedent that took her life much to early. she did nothing wrong.

yet according to many beliefs she will spend all eternity in hell.

why?

Breast Exam Poem
For years and years they told me, Be careful of your breasts. Don't ever squeeze or bruise them. And give them monthly tests.
So I heeded all their warnings, And protected them by law. Guarded them very carefully, And I always wore my bra.

After 30 years of astute care, My doctor found a lump. She ordered up a mammogram, To look inside that bump. "Stand up very close" she said. As she got my boob in line, "And tell me when it hurts" she said. "Ah yes! There, that's fine.

She stepped upon a pedal. I could not believe my eyes! A plastic plate pressed down and down, My boob was in a vise!

My skin was stretched and stretched, From way up under my chin. My poor boob was being squashed, To Swedish pancake thin.

Excruciating pain I felt. Within it's vice-like grip. A prisoner in this viscous thing, My poor defenseless tit!

"Take a deep breath" she said to me, Who does she think she's kidding? My chest is mashed in her machine, And woozy I am getting.

"There, that was good," I heard her say As the room was slowly swaying. "Now, let's have a go at the other one." Lord have mercy I was praying.

It squeezed me from up and down. It squeezed me from both sides. I'll bet she's never had this done, Not to her tender little hide!

If I had no problem when I came in, I surely have one now. If there had been a cyst in there, It would have popped, "ker-pow!"

This machine was created by a man, Of this, I have no doubt. I'd like to stick his balls in there, And see how they come out!

They found a friend of mine that had been dead for a week or more sitting on the couch watching T.V. I was told that I didn't want to go see the body. Things like that do not bother me. Would there have been a smell? There were two cats in there with her all this time. What exactly would she look like & can you go see them at the City Morgue?

Sure seems that way, there's no proof of any of these thousands of Gods ever existing. Then Christians tell us that we can't prove that their Gods don't exist, but the lack of proof, and simple logic shows them to be merely fables.

He's making his list
checking it twice
gonna find out who's been naughty or nice
Judgement day is coming for you....

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
You knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for Jesus's sake.

Firstly, I'm told I must follow the word of God and if I can't, I must ask for forgiveness. I'm also told that if I don't believe in God or Jesus I will be sentenced to eternal damnation. I'm told that I have been given the gift of free will so I am responsible for my own actions and can't blame the consequences on God.

Why isn't it God's responsibility when it was his will that I be born knowing in advance that I would be sentenced to eternal damnation. I got no say in the matter. My free will was subverted by the fact that I am here. I was never consulted as to whether I wanted to participate in this game. If I was put here with no choice, why is anything my responsibility? I'm the victim here.

the one about God's perfect plan for all of our lives and how anything can be made good thru him?
Also, if you could give me any others like that i would appreciate it.
I kinda freak out during finals week and I thought it would be a good idea to write these on my hand for when I'm taking the test.
[[And yes, I'm going to show it to my teachers beforehand so they know I'm not cheating. =]]
Thanks much!

Question: Have you heard about this "Purity Balls" thing?

Question Details: I was watching Tyra the other day (Yeah get over it, there was nothing on TV) and they were talking about what's called "Purity Balls". It's basically a tradition started by a family, who thinks that "Fathers in the US have no role or authority upon their daughters". They do this ball annually, where a group of fathers and daughters gather, and the daughter pledges to her father that she will totally submit to him, and maintain her purity till marriage. And the girls would dance around two swords in the shape of the cross as a symbol that they would "Present themselves as a whole to their maker". The fathers Tyra met said that "It's not our goal to control our daughters and then a bunch of crap...Although the ceremonies strongly suggest the real intentions behind them. Thoughts?
