Why don't Evolutionists hate gays?

If Evolution teaches that a creature's purpose is simply to reproduce, why don't Evolutionists hate gays like the Christians do?

And PLEASE, take your Bible thumping somewhere else; No one wants to hear it.

AS A GAY MAN I have to agree most with the idea that evolution is fact, and not all straight people reproduce, so why would an Evolutionist hate gays?

What this tells me is that fundamentally Christianity's dislike of gays is based purely on ideas, not facts and substance.

1) Humans are social animals, who depend on the group to successfully raise children.

Among social animals such as humans, every individual doesn't have to personally reproduce in order to contibute to the reproductive success of the group.

2) "Evolutionists" are scientists; scientists describe reality, they don't pass moral judgement on it.

Sorry but you have that wrong. Evolution does NOT teach that every creatures purpose is simply to reproduce. That's utterly false.
Every creature has the will to survive. If POSSIBLE it should pass it's genes onto the next generation.
And since homosexual behaviour has been observed in EVERY mammalian species and many reptile, bird and fish species too, I'd say it was a natural way of keeping the population down a bit.

We don't need to hate those branches of evolution that seem unlikely to succeed. We can all get along until they quietly die off.

One is forced to wonder, however, that if homosexuality is a genetic trait, and thus subject to biological evolution, then shouldn't it have died out already? It's been around for quite a long time, after all.
This suggests that it is not genetic - or at least not purely genetic.

Anyhow, as far a hatred goes, hating gays for evolutionary reasons would just as silly as hating lactose-intolerant people, or blonde people; both trends are on the way out, and nothing to get all angry about.

Well lets get straight to the answer,i'm no expert so these are my sole views and thought :
1.Evolutionists are not people who use religion or society based views, they use "theories" based on history of manking , somtimes relating to animals behavious as well
2. Evolutionists view reproduction as a sole method of contiuity (true that is is), they dont however view LGBT relations a "serious" stopper of continuity, where as all Religious groups do
3. Evolutionists are people who are used to "accepting" and not changing any nature of manking (LGBTism), because they'd rather study the life style, trend , survival, bla bla,bla of these groups rather than condemn them.
4.The main and over all "MAIN" reason why Christians, Muslims, etc condemn Gayism is because their knowledge is based on upon history which i believe is huge than all Evologist knowlegde combined, so therefore they condemn in on moral, social , bla bla bla grounds, citing it as evil, although it has existed thru time, it has proven to be painful to both Gays and the society.
Why pain ful..i 'l explain later.....

Being a firm believer that population control is the most serious issue facing this planet today,I am glad they don't reproduce.I wish heterosexuals would slow it down.Why hate someone for their sexual preference?Shouldn't gays therefore hate heteros for their sexual preferences?Pretty silly,huh?Why are people SO FUGGING obsessed with other peoples sexuality?My theory is Christians are repressed,don't get enough,and therefore spend their time fantasizing about those that ARE getting some,homo or hetero.I am fascinated by the fascination others have for other peoples sex lives

well i think that's because the evolution theory (unlike religion) has to do exclusively with science and not with morality or stuff like that (i mean, unlike religion, it doesnt have anything to do with judging people... and i dont even think homosexuality and morality should be confronted..but religion does...). therefore, there is no reason to judge people on the basis of evolution. the only thing evolutionism or science can tell you about gays is that they wont reproduce naturally, that's all.

because evolutionism isn't prescriptive, it's a theory describing soemthing (how different species come about and develop) not a theory saying how people (or things or species) should behave. just because people do reproduce doesnt mean they should reproduce (it's the old is/ought distinction)

evolutionists don't hate infertile people, men who have had vasectomies, the impotent or terminally unnattractive either.
