Jesus preached to "Worship in Spirit" and that these are the kind of worshippers God seeks. He was speaking to the woman at Jacob's well.

Are you absolutely certain that Jesus did not show his own disciples privately how to Worship in Spirit and be the worshippers God seeks? I say this because this is exaccty how the Teacher-Disciple thing works... even today. Source: http://gospelenigma.com

If he did it privately, we wouldn't know a thing about it today.

So what do you say?

Are you ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that Jesus did not teach something quite important that you don't know anything about?

Those with eyes to see and ears to hear...I am absolutely certain that Jesus DID teach lots of things that aren't in that book. It says so in the book. That the book could not contain all that was said, done, etc. I'm learning some of them every day. But like many are told in the book, some of the 'stuff' I may share with others, and some are for me alone. Nothwithstanding the belief that the best way to get the word out is to tell someone to keep shut about it.
:) I keep hitting submit when I mean to hit modify. By the way, just because I say something with certainty doesn't make me right or even permanent in that opinion. Many of my 'certainties' have shifted on my life's journey up to this point. But I am certain of my answer on this Q and that hasn't changed yet in my whole life so far.
And for some of you, just food for thought, in case you read other people's responses and don't just look for your ratings or if you got best answer. Remember these words: 'All these things I do you can do AND MORE.' So mull that over for awhile those who think otherwise, or don't. Free-will abounds.
Worship in Spirit is the ONLY WAY. And while nothing is hidden, doesn't mean it was all contained on the pages of parchment or in clay. I'm a teacher and while I hide nothing, not every nuance and subtlty is taught to nor learned by all students. When the student is ready the teacher appears is how some students get 'more' and some never get it. More is revealed to me all the time. I don't sweat what I don't know, I just rejoice over this constant spiritual communion in which I am given all I need to know at the time I need to know it. And not a minute before.
Interesting Q

Not sure what you mean by "private spiritual practices," but John tells us that "Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written" (21:25). Jesus's private teachings were not kept secret, but were remembered in the Sacred Traditions of his only church. Good examples include purgatory and the Trinity, which are not explicitly recorded in the New Testament. Cheers, Bruce

In keeping with His words, nothing has been hidden. He so obviously did not come here, just to hide what He wants us all to know.
Hidden knowledge is a Gnostic idea, one which the Apostles fought against...it's the belief there are "hidden" truths that have led many into that cult, and others.
We trust that everything God would have us to know, He has provided for us to know in the Bible. Certainly an Almighty God can preserve His words and their meanings for a mere few thousand years' time.

I'm certain that Jesus taught many things I don't understand, and I have it all in black, white and red print.

However, did He give them something more than what He gave us? Highly doubtful, look at all the times the disciples didn't understand either and questioned Him about what He meant.

I suppose the only thing they had that we don't is no need of "faith" for they saw Him in the flesh.

Yes, I am absolutely certain that He didn't because Paul would have exposed it. Paul, remember, had only one contact with Christ, for a few brief moments, and never saw Him again. Paul was all about teaching everyone everything he knew about Jesus and worship.

By the way, Jesus Himself said not to indulge in secret societies/rituals....

Absolute certainty on anything is an unreasonable request. The evidence strongly suggests that Jesus never existed, so "he" could not have taught anything, private or public.

I don't know much, but I know I love you.

I know that the Christus energy abounds on the earth plane, with the knowledge and understandings given through this being to all, from source/God.

I know to this is available when one is "ready or available" energetically, to "hear" "hold" and "bring" this energetic through the being, to be this, live this, and others may glean, feel, and are "moved" to allow this "healing" of what binds and limits the body/mind.

I know this to be true.

Peace

Given that the gospels were not written by the original disciples and around 70 years after his death, I would say that there is a very good chance that many things were missed and added.

No one can say that he didn't. And they can't say he did, either. You can't, either. Oh, you can *say* it, but it won't mean anything.

I feel sure in my own mind that we have been given what is really important. I fight shy of those who have "new revelations" on how things should be done. The Gospel is simple...as simple as being born.

Yes, I am certain.
I am not going to bore you with texts, but the bible states that Jesus opened his deciples minds to understand the scriptures, which indicates that one's mind has to be opened first to understand spiritually. Then he said to them, now go and teach everybody you come across.
Interesting thought is whether this indicates that no person understood clearly and correctly untill this happened. To me it does.
