Do you really believe in Armaggedon?
I believe that the end of the world means the end of suffering!

elaborating on my question earlier...most people chose lingerie as the hottest thing for a girl to wear...then my questions are:
why is wearing lingerie hotter?
do women look unappealing when naked? and if so, then whats with all the hype about nudity?
And (according to mainstream ideals) why is it that most men would rather choose to to see someone naked rather then in lingerie?

I know that several beliefs hold that there is great importance in bestowing a name, that a name is to be chosen as a sort of prophecy of one's future. A person's name was, in times past, something chosen with great care, and was a source of personal power. It was a great offense to "take someone's name in vain", and a person's name was considered to hold that person's identity.

What do you think? Do you think a person's name has a bearing on a person's life? Do you think that your name is significant as a personal expression of identity? If you have children, did you put much thought into the choosing of their name(s)? Did you choose the name out of the hopes of what sort of person the child might be, or to continue a family tradition, or for what reason?

Do you know the meaning of your name? Is the meaning of your name important to you?

My name, Jack, is a form of the name John, and means "God is gracious", by the way...

Man, I tell you; those athiests are ANGRY. They hate anyone that even believes in God. They even hate the agnostics for acknowledging the mere possibility that there is a God.

I'm no religious fanatic here. Basically, I just believe that God wants people to be good, and apparently even this is perceived to be some radical statement. Religion isn't even important to God.

I'm NOT anti-science either. In fact, I'm currently finishing my coursework to be a life science teacher for kids between the grades of 7-12. Anti-science? Not me, but I guess that not being anti-God makes me a religious fanatic worthy of vicious insults.

Just check out the responses to my previous question:

Is it BEING GOOD that's offensive to people these days? Hmmm?

To all the spiritual folks out there...is there a way I can access wisdom in choosing the right path? I have loved him one-sidedly for so long, and we have been close, and yet, he says we can only be friends and he doesn't want a relationship and I should move on. He doesn't feel ready. I am getting the vibe he will never be mine, and yet I am also getting the vibe that there IS a slight hope here.

I am conflicted whether I need to keep trying single-mindedly until the end (perhaps until he has a GF or gets married) or should I let him go and start seeing other people? I am really afraid to do the latter - coz I feel I wont be doing justice to the new man, plus, there is a big chance I will lose the guy I do love.

If I don't reach a conclusion to this, I will go crazy. I am living in a whole lot of pain every single day not knowing which way to go. How do I know what the right path is?

What would you do if you were in a bind, seeking an answer?

The spokesman of the Mormon Church Elder M. Russell Ballard is very careful to reveal the primary doctrines of his church to the public. I believe this is because it might affect the candidacy of Mitt Romney (a Mormon) who is running for the presidential race. What do you think - should your God want to be worshiped? After all, if God is to be an all perfect, all gracious, merciful entity, wouldn't wanting/encouraging worship from its living creations be an act of greed and/or arrogance?

Personally, I think that the best way to show your thanks to God is to live a moral life, treat others as you would like to be treated, and leave the world doing what you can to make it an overall better place....not public showings like going to church, or praying at your bedside. God shouldn't want that. What do you think?

I read on here that god did not create the evil in the world,he gave us free will and we use that will to do and create evil.
This confuses me because when something good happens people say its gods will,or by the grace of god,or that god allowed it to happen. How can god be responsibile and get the credit for the good things that humans do with their free will but doesn't get the credit or blame for the bad things that humans do with their free will.

So basically why does god have no part in the evil that we do but everything good that happens is a result of god.

The best defense for the existence of God is that the universe itself exists, and matter needs a point of origin. Atheists would then ask “Who created God?”. When we respond “God always was.”, they come back and say “Why can’t we say that the universe always was?” Here’s my rebuttal: Consider the chair that you’re sitting on. It’s mass needed a point of origin, but what about the concept, or the ‘form’ of the chair? Before the first chair was built, you still had the possibility, or the form of the chair. The form always was, and always will be, but not the physical actuality. Of all the infinite forms, Good and Evil are the most significant. God IS good, and the Devil IS evil. They were the two original minds/beings, and they needed this universe and people to make choices, so they cooperated. A few moments later … BANG … there we were. God and the Devil were the totality of the forms/concepts of Good and Evil, so they don’t need a point of origin, unlike physical reality.

good people, like the type of people that really care about other people, who don't drink/smoke/do drugs or anything else that hurts themselves or other people. Like what if they never heard of Jesus, so they haven't been able to "accept him"? When the messiah is supposed to come, are these people going to go to hell? If they are, then won't there be tons of good people in hell?

Also I know a few of christians. They drink/do drugs a lot, and they are extremely selfish people. They say what they do is okay, because they accept Jesus. According to the bible, they're going to heaven.

Honestly, I don't even understand what hell is, except that it's bad. But then if good people are going there, how can it be bad? Also, if bad people are going to heaven, how can it be good?

If heaven is supposed to be a blissful place how do they deal with the grief one would feel about their loved ones being tortured for eternity? Would you become ignorant of ever loving these people or would you become heartless and not compassionate? Which is it? Stupid or heartless?

I am a student, so I don't have much money to donate, but could spare a little. However, I could donate my time in an effort to raise money. I really want to help. If everyone in America decided to stop focasing so much on designer jeans and more on issues like this, there would not be such things as "Genocides."
