When Jesus was asked about paying taxes to Rome his response was to render unto Ceasar the things that are Ceasar's and render unto God the things that are God's.

I believe there is much in the U.S. culture he would have liked and some things he would not like. As far as our foreign policy is concerned, I don't know if he would have had an opinion, since I know of no opinion he ever expressed on any nation's foreign policy.

We tend sometimes to twist Jesus to fit our own opinions and prejudices. I think this is folly and if it isn't in the gospels we have no idea what he would have thought.

Ah yes the "What Would Jesus Bomb" question... U.S. culture is based on intolerance and materialism-- two things that Jesus seemed to have a problem with... As far as our foreign policy I think Jesus would be as pissed off as I am at this moment....

Not a chance - he is reported to have beleived in sharing and caring. I don't see that in American culture, I just see greed and the need to Lord it over the world.
