Question: Have you heard about this "Purity Balls" thing?
Question Details: I was watching Tyra the other day (Yeah get over it, there was nothing on TV) and they were talking about what's called "Purity Balls". It's basically a tradition started by a family, who thinks that "Fathers in the US have no role or authority upon their daughters". They do this ball annually, where a group of fathers and daughters gather, and the daughter pledges to her father that she will totally submit to him, and maintain her purity till marriage. And the girls would dance around two swords in the shape of the cross as a symbol that they would "Present themselves as a whole to their maker". The fathers Tyra met said that "It's not our goal to control our daughters and then a bunch of crap...Although the ceremonies strongly suggest the real intentions behind them. Thoughts?
Deleted Answer: Christians are some of the biggest liars out there.

I think your answer was offensive and generalizing but you're intitled to your opinion about us and I wouldn't have reported you for it.

Yuck. Yuck to the deleting and yuck to the fathers on Tyra. I don't understand why this would have been an offensive question and if Christians had it right, they would see that this is something they should be concerned about happening in their name. Anyone who has actually read the Bible knows that the control and domination of women is Old Testament crap. Jesus revered and respected women more than anyone else in his time. I have known many so-called Christians who have used the Bible as an excuse to oppress women for years and they are in serious spiritual danger.
Anyway, continue on Lucifer. The questions and issues you have brought "to light" are only deleted out of ignorance and/or laziness. There are some of us who appreciate your concerns, and any woman who doesn't should be ashamed of herself.
EDIT>>> Evidentally I misunderstood and thought both the question and answer were deleted. Still, the answer given was someones opinion due to their own life experiences. I have seen plenty of Christians on here make derisive comments in general about the atheist, muslim, and pagan communities and those answers have remained, even though they are offensive to the community it was directed at. Free speech, people, does not only apply to Christians....

Maybe it was becuz of the word "liar". I don't like the answer, because I am a Christian. I can't say I haven't lied before, because I have. Who hasn't? The good comes from admitting mistakes and changing. I really don't see why it was deleted. All opinions will be bogus to someone else.

I am moslem but to generalize that all Christians are big liars that is unfair.
Never mind if it was deleted because the words sound offensive

let me guess you want to blame Christians for that
You aren't going to get the explanation you want
I got reported on an answer where the question which was a rant posted what were supposed to be bible inaccuracy
I said the web site made me laugh and I got a violation for insulting other members. Hmm how does saying a web site makes me laugh insult any one?
Should I blame all non believers for it?
No it was 2or 3 "influential" people that did not like it and used their voting power to get it deleted
Y!A doesn't even review the violations they just remove it then you have to ask to have it restored. Which never happens

I heard of this a couple months ago here. I find it VERY creepy.
I got big (purity) balls, I've got big (purity) balls....
That is a stupid reporting, not that any really are justifiable.

purity balls seems so minor in america. i mean so many people here are sexually active. especially the females. its bananas. but i like the idea. i never promised to stay pure to my parents, but i'm 21 and i am still a virgin.

Well heck. It happened to me too. Not just questions either. For each one, people should find one question about "scripture" and delete it because scripture is harmful to youth, as demonstrated by centuries of psychological torment. This is just one possible solution. An "eye for an eye" to use their vile scripture against them.

Hi Lucifer,
I am sorry about the violations.. I have never reported you. Remember, that these fathers and daughters are doing this voluntarily. So, that is fine. The fathers care about what happens to their daugthers, and the daughters feel cared about.
