Islam And Incest

2016-12-18 07:54:05 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Quran talks about Adam and Even being the first humans and God creating Adam but it does not talk about incest concerning their offspring but obviously incest is forbidden as close family memebers are forbidden to marry each other. In Islamic traditional stories Adam and Even had two sets of twins and it was commanded that they marry each other's twins. There was a first purpose for this. I haven't checked the authenticiy of the story but it was believed that Adam and his generatiosn lived ALONG time so it could be that they had many children and their children and there would have been a big "tribe" as it happens normaly. This is better than the tradition of Pharoh's like Cleopatra that married family like brothers and sisters or even parents.

No, it doesn't allow incest. They allow marriages between cousins but that is not incest. Incest is when someone has a sexual relationship with an ancestor or decendant. In fact we all will marry a cousin of some degree because otherwise we would be committing incest. We're all related it is pretty much scientific fact, many people seem to be ignorant of this. Which is what that book was basically ignorant of because they were basically talking about cousin marriages.

if you stop and think about this, first we have holy books, the bible says about Adam and Eve, then we have evolution, not sure what Islam says, but what ever way we started we all in those days committed Incest, that is something that can't be denied, so they might not now, but before Islam yes

here are the rules straight from the quran regarding those whom you can marry. in the bible i know for sure there is incest, fathers with daughters mothers with sons brothers with sisters. i was christian all my life, i converted 2 years ago to islam.

"And do not marry those [women] whom your fathers married, except what has already occurred. Indeed, it was an immorality and hateful [to Allaah] and was evil as a way. Prohibited to you [for marriage] are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father’s sisters, your mother’s sisters, your brother’s daughters, your sister’s daughters, your [milk] mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing, your wives’ mothers, and your step daughters under your guardianship [born] of your wives unto whom you have gone in. But if you have not gone in unto them, there is no sin upon you. And [also prohibited are] the wives of your sons who are from your [own] loins, and that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred. Indeed, Allaah is ever Forgiving and Merciful. And [also prohibited to you are all] married women except those your right hands possess [i.e., slaves or war-captives who had polytheistic husbands]. [This is] the decree of Allaah upon you. And lawful to you are [all others] beyond these, [provided] that you seek them [in marriage] with [gifts from] your property, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse..." [Quran 4:22-24]

Those Permanently Forbidden due to Blood Relations

Descendants due to a relationship with a woman, regardless of how far (a man's daughter, granddaughter, etc.).
Ascendants of women, regardless of how far (mother, maternal and paternal grandmother, etc.).
Descendants from a man's parents, regardless of how far (sisters, half sisters, sister's children, etc.)
Siblings of male and female ascendants, regardless of how far (paternal and maternal aunts, great aunts, etc.).

If you actually read the blurb it would seem to indicate that Islam does not advocate incest in any way.
