Abiogenesis and evolution go hand-in-hand. Abiogenesis is another word for saying, they don't know. They have to separate the two because evolution is destroyed when there is not a starting point. There is not one single shed of evidence of spontaneous generation. They like to claim there is proof but when the rubber meets the road...nada. That is also where evolution begins to wither on the vine. Evolution is completely faith based. If there are not any experiments to conclusively demonstrate a "theory", then that theory has to be redefined. Empirical evidence? Yeah, right. The fossil record is a farce. Way too many gaps between what they claim are fossil transitions. Dating methods are even more inexact. So right now anyone who claims evolution is fact - is in complete denial. I guess they think that throwing a bunch of scientific jargon around makes it real. The fact is there is not one single observed transition, ever. That's the facts.

Evolution is one assumption leading to the next assumption and then to the next. Little fact - lots of assumption.

There are 7 seals (7 ages) each age has 49 generations, however, God the Father changes Times and Seasons.

There is A Time, which is the first 4 ages
There is Times, which is the 5th and 6th ages.
There is Half-a-Time which is the 7th age.

The 7th 1 generation = 20 years x 49 = 980 years
The 6th 1 generation = 40 years x 49 = 1960 years
The 5th 1 generation = 40 years x 49 = 1960 years
The 4th 1 generation = 400 years x 49 =
The 3rd 1 generation = 4000 years x 49 = (man and woman)
The 2nd 1 generation = 40000 years x 49 = (Cavemen and woman)
The 1st 1 generation = 400000 years x 49 =(male and female)

Evolution cannot address the origin of life, because you must first define life. It sounds simple, but no one has yet to put forth a completely solid definition. In fact, it may yet turn out that how life is defined (when someone attempts it) is completely arbitrary and based on our own prejudices. So, did life really evolve from non-life or did matter evolve into something you define as living?

The answer to your first question is "yes" and "yes". Everything living that we know of does point to a single ancestor. But, that doesn't mean there were not other life creating events. Many things could have happened. Subsequent events could have killed off other life forms. Our ancestral bacteria could have killed off everything else. Or, the other life forms could have been eaten by the ancestral bacteria and absorbed to become part of current life.

Evolutionary theory does not address the origin of life. That is called Abiogenesis,it is not part of evolutionary theory, and it's not supposed to be.

Evolutionary theory simply defines and describes how life (already existing at any given point) CHANGES over time.

Edit: Our brainbox, who posted below, "Steve" does not know what Theory means in science. Theory is not a guess in the language of science. Evolution is not a theory. Evolutionary THEORY is a theory. Evolution is an observed fact. Evolutionary Theory is the name for our human understanding of that fact. Even if Evolutionary Theory were to be falsified, that would still leave Evolution itself, and then the next framework of understanding of Evolution would be called Evolutionary Theory.

In the language of science, the word Theory is not the same as speculation. The word theory, in science means, "The intellectual framework defining, describing, and making predictions about natural phenomena."

Nothing outside of Mathematics is ever proven. Science deals not in proof, but in degrees of confidence, and EVIDENCE.

Jeancommunicates seems to have the same problem, not understanding beyond cult superstition, what Science says about evolution, through evolutionary theory. Read up on the subject. If you are not sure what Darwin said, READ ...Origin of Species...No one here has any obligation to educate you, beyond what you are willing to study.

One will note that creationists who claim to understand science have yet to meet the final, definitive creationist challenge by demonstrating they can DO science. IE: Make a positive statement in support of Creationism (or ID, whatever you want to call it), then state what tests have been performed to FALSIFY that statement. This is what science does, and this is what scientists do EVERY DAY. Biologists are still attempting in new ways to find and blast through ANY holes in evolutionary theory. After 150 years, it is still rock solid.

Scientific Method. Observe, Make an hypothesis (Positive Statement), test the hypothesis first by attempting to falsify it with experimental testing. Then test the hypothesis by finding and providing evidence that supports it. THEN, allow others to do so (attempt to falsify and support) with their experiments. If the hypothesis stands up to this scrutiny, it then, along with the body of work surrounding the hypothesis, is elevated to the level of theory. Theories are held tentavely, pending newer evidence and more robust explanations.

That's the beauty of science. If something is modified or discarded in light of new evidence, it illustrates the intellectual honesty of the scientific community. It does not demonstrate intellectual cowardice and moral decripitude, nor anything else that cult superstitions display.

JohnFromNC is another one. If he honestly believes what he is saying, then he is displaying a vast ignorance of both evolution and evolutionary theory. The Fossil record is not a farce. It is incomplete due to the rarity of fossilization, but it DOES show us hundreds of thousands of transitional forms. Every form that has existed and speciated has been a transitional form. If he means intermediate form, then there are those too. Look at Eohippus, Mesohippus, Pliohippus, and Equus, an unbroken line of evolution in the horse family. From ancestral horse to modern horse. There are hundreds of examples.

Because of his ignorance, he does not, of course, offer any evidence to support his claim (spoken or otherwise) that "God did it all!" None of the Creationist cult members do, because they cannot. Nor does he offer a better theory, and of course, for the same reason. No evidence.

Umm, there isn't one. You might be thinking about creationism? Evolution adresses the gradual change of life... not the beginning. Or did you perhaps mean "what's the current scientific theory on the origin of life"?

This is outside the scope of evolution. But look up abiogenesis for some info on scientific investigation to the origin of life.

Evolutionary theory doesn't speculate on the origin of life.

You are thinking of Abiogenesis.

Evolution doesn't cover the origin of life on Earth.

Look up "Abiogenesis".

That the whole universe started with the Big bang theory and everything was created over the course of time from that single event. This also includes life on Earth.

Love all the thumbs down. He asked the theory people, on where all life came from. Not whether you believed it or not.
