In my second interview, I met with 4 different people. Later that day I recieved the call that they are offering me the position and I start in 2 weeks, and that they will send me an official offer letter to follow. I accepted the offer on the phone. Is it appropriate to email everyone that met with me yesterday and say "thank you for your time, I have accepted the position and look forward to working with you soon" or is this tacky? Should I wait until the letter comes bfore doing this?

You know those folks that are trying to ruin the economic and commercial aspects of the season. Can you think of anything more un-American?

B) Are these folks that same ones that want to remove all the fun from the season too?

I'm doing a report on Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Historically Black Sororities and Fraternities.

Based on what you know (Not a rumor) about the two subjects, do you think they deserve to remain standing, do they need to be taken away, or do you have no opinion on them?

Although I am a product of both, I am not going to give my opinion of either.

Please, no racist comments, and please give references if you can!

So I sat in the parking lot with a portable television barking at the football game! ?? ! It's good luck charm, and it's worked! We've won many games doing this!

They called the cops? Sick!!!!

I can't go to the games anymore. Girls eating in front of me, driving me to sinful thoughts. Men looking at me with come here eyes, and jeans too tight. I wear good pants.

Last time I went to a football game, I ended up waking up cuddled next to a man I didn't even know! It's sick!!!!

We didn't have television in Panama! Nestor said we didn't need one! Liar!

Is it ok to give him a picture in a frame? A professional photographer took a very nice pic of him with his family at the closing ceremony for a class he taught and I thought framing it and giving it to him as a gift would be nice. The only problem is I once visited the home of an Orthodox Rabbi(his wife was teaching a class) and they had no photos. I am not Orthodox but the Rabbi I am buying the gift for is. I don't know if photos in the home is acceptable. I wanted to buy it today and give it to him at a Chanukah party.

...That no matter what you're personal beliefs or goals are, that America is way too concerned about celebrities and foreign affairs and sports, (i.e. other people's business and trivia,) and this will (er, pretty much HAS,) result in a mass of humanity incapable of improving itself or even controlling its own affairs? Is there a group devoted to overall cultural revision? Or will we fulfill the "prophesy" of "Idiocracy" and continue to treat the idea of eugenics as the Devil's own pitchfork of social damnation?

(Answers from people who can read and write only please...)

I get very tired of all the politically correct garbage where people feel like they have to say Happy Holidays so they don't offend someone.

Personally, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I'm just curious what people think. Am I being insulting to people that don't celebrate Christmas?

(I asked a similar question yesterday and it was deleted because someone claimed it wasn't a question. It was a question!)

Volume 4, Book 52, Number 260: Narrated Ikrima: "...for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' " http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/052.sbt.html#004.052.260

Killing people is a serious matter. We want to be sure that we dont kill people who havent really left the religion of peace. So, how can we be sure?

Even if someone declares another religion, maybe in their heart, they really havent left the peaceful embrace of the war religion (Islam). In fact, when you think about it, everyone leaves their religion all the time because it is impossible to "believe" all the time.

For example, right now you reading. Your not "believing" or worshiping or anything...just reading. So if your Muslim, should you now kill yourself?

The response is "ohh, but I still believe" to which I respond "so what...you dont always believe and even someone smart enough not to believe in Islam might one day become dumb enough to.."

happened at the tower of Babel?

That is where God confused their languages, it says nothing about color coding them. Couldn't it be the colors already existed and God changed their languages in accordance with their "already existing" skin color.

Wouldn't it make more sense to believe that Adam and Eve were genetically perfect and contained the genetic coding for ALL races, which in time... became the different races of people? (as in light skinned persons married light skinned persons and dark skinned persons married dark skinned)

I am confused about why people associate the Tower of Babel with Color differences.

one child began admonishing another child for not saying grace to god.

The other child looked rather bewildered and later came up and asked me what "god" was? How can you answer this, in a secular way. I was stumped.

I told him some people believe in a "god", but I don't think that really helped him. He just didn't get the concept of "god".

What would you have done. Remember this is a public school, and although I am an atheist, I do know what "god" is, but I didn't want to be accused of preaching when the intent was informing...
