While visiting her husband in hospital the consultant called her aside for a private word.

He says " I'm afraid I don't like the look of your husband"

The wife replied, "Neither do I, but he's not home a lot and he is good with the children!"

I know that some women do this, but can guys shave their heads to raise money for cancer research? Has anyone done this before? If guys can do it, do they have to have really long hair, like shoulder length, or can it be normal length? Does length even matter, or is it just how much money you raise?

For anyone who's done this (guy or girl), what was it like? Did you get a great sense of fulfillment after you'd done it? How did people react?

Thanks

First, some Muslims cry for blood over CARTOONS, and then they cry for blood over a teddy bear. What *is* the problem with this? Are these 'radicals' so insecure over their faith?

Why would a god prefer humans to believe blindly in him,
and not prefer people who argue, seek evidence before believing in something ?

Does he prefer innocent/stupid/naive/ people ?

If god doesnt care if we believe or not,
why say he is answering prayers,
but letting millions of people despair of knowing if he exists or not, if he is listening to them or not ?

it looks like another proof of god non-existence ?

Martin Luther, Founder of the Reform, Speaks on Mary
In his sermon of August 15, 1522, the last time Martin Luther preached on the Feast of the Assumption, he stated:

There can be no doubt that the Virgin Mary is in heaven. How it happened we do not know. And since the Holy Spirit has told us nothing about it, we can make of it no article of faith . . . It is enough to know that she lives in Christ.

The veneration of Mary is inscribed in the very depths of the human heart. (Sermon, September 1, 1522).

[She is the] highest woman and the noblest gem in Christianity after Christ . . . She is nobility, wisdom, and holiness personified. We can never honor her enough. Still honor and praise must be given to her in such a way as to injure neither Christ nor the Scriptures. (Sermon, Christmas, 1531).

No woman is like you. You are more than Eve or Sarah, blessed above all nobility, wisdom, and sanctity. (Sermon, Feast of the Visitation, 1537).

One should honor Mary as she herself wished and as she expressed it in the Magnificat. She praised God for his deeds. How then can we praise her? The true honor of Mary is the honor of God, the praise of God's grace . . . Mary is nothing for the sake of herself, but for the sake of Christ . . . Mary does not wish that we come to her, but through her to God. (Explanation of the Magnificat, 1521).

Luther gives the Blessed Virgin the exalted position of "Spiritual Mother" for Christians:

It is the consolation and the superabundant goodness of God, that man is able to exult in such a treasure. Mary is his true Mother .. (Sermon, Christmas, 1522)

Mary is the Mother of Jesus and the Mother of all of us even though it was Christ alone who reposed on her knees . . . If he is ours, we ought to be in his situation; there where he is, we ought also to be and all that he has ought to be ours, and his mother is also our mother. (Sermon, Christmas, 1529).

Martin Luther had the belief of Mary's Immaculate Conception, Luther's words follow:

It is a sweet and pious belief that the infusion of Mary's soul was effected without original sin; so that in the very infusion of her soul she was also purified from original sin and adorned with God's gifts, receiving a pure soul infused by God; thus from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin" (Sermon: "On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God," 1527).

She is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin- something exceedingly great. For God's grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil. (Personal {"Little"} Prayer Book, 1522).

Since July I have been campaigning to stop the building of three new properties very close to my house. Final meeting is Thursday. Only 3 of us have done the research and attended the meetings and whole heartedly campaigned, although at the first meeting 47 households had loads of enthusiasim to object. They will all be affected in some way, so should be helping too.
I am feeling let down. I've since been told this often happens. How about you, have you been let down by false promises?

If this is deleted for chatting so be it! It is a genuine question though so give it chance to get some answers. please.

If you are an atheist can't you depend on your self? If you are a theist can't you depend on God?

Seems to be a pretty harsh battle going on here, is it so important that your neighbor has the same belief as you? After a few thousand years of having someones religion crammed down the throats of everyone else religion, do we really need atheists trolling the web like Jehovahs witnesses on a Saturday, preaching the gospel of the un-believer?

Everyone who reads the life of Jesus Christ is impressed, by
his down to earth simplicity, bordering poverty and his reluctance to show off by using superior dresses and live in grand palaces.

Tradition has it that he did not even have a house to live. Once he felt threatened by lightning. It was raining cats and dogs and
he was running from place to place. He went to a cave , but it
was occupied by a woman. Then he went to another but it was
the dwelling place of a beast. So he said, there is a home even for a beast, but son of Adam has no place to save himself
from the lightining. Upon this God sent Archangel Gabrael to
him who informed him that God has made a palace of pearls for him in the paradise which has 60,000 well decorated suits in it. Contrary to this simplicity, we see Pope and cardinals in shining dresses, living in grand palaces like princes. Does love for Jesus not require one to live like him and behave
like him? Who oversees the conduct of pope?
