First, some Muslims cry for blood over CARTOONS, and then they cry for blood over a teddy bear. What *is* the problem with this? Are these 'radicals' so insecure over their faith?

Yes they are insecure and lack true faith so they cover it up with bravado and violence.

Just like some members of other religions do. There are "Christians" who kill doctors who perform abortions, bomb abortion clinics, kill hookers, etc

There have been religious killings ever since religion was invented because 1) some people just need the excuse to kill or 2) Some think if they act in an extreme manner they can convince God and others that they really have a deep faith...all in the attempt to convince themselves they do

Religious indoctrination is not unique to the Muslims - it is going on plenty in Christianity too. The problem isn't so much the religion, its the fundaMENTALists that can't see that there might be more than one way to look at things, and some of those ways completely disagree with what they have been told, so they freak out. There is one good thing about this - it is showing just exactly what we are up against when people would murder a woman for having the "nerve" to allow here students to name a Teddy Bear. These people are nuts, and should be treated as such.

Well, the extreme position is definitely alarming, but I can easily see where the basis comes from. It's not all that bad a rule to prohibit visual representations of God, because that pins God to look a certain way and it also limits God's existence, which is kind of the opposite of God's nature. It's good to be reminded of the infinite rather than get stuck with an image in your mind of a bearded guy sitting on a cloud.

Having said that, it's also problematic to have such a rule, since the rest of the world is not bound by such ideas, and it's obviously very easy to take the whole thing too far.

Reality from fantasy?

I personally know people who truly believe that GOD is a guy with a white beard, wearing a robe and sandals. And a bunch more who think Jesus was white, and had blue eyes. Then there are the hillbillies and rednecks who think that the trees and animals were put here for no other reason than for us to cut them all down and shoot everything we can hit. After all, God will make more trees for us, so what's the problem?

So the Muslims running around trying to get somebody executed for naming a teddy bear are no worse than the good Reverend Haggard scr**ing his gay lover while at the same time preaching the Gospel in church.

They are all hypocrites and losers, and the world would be a better place if God removed several hundred million of them from the planet post-haste!

The Islamic faith has come a LONG way from its origins. It has now become a "warlike" religion. Many do not want to recognize the Genesis Scripture in Chapter 17 as the Covenants are divided between Issac and Ishmael, yet it is this same Scripture that we find being fullfilled when it comes to them declaring war on everyone else. It has now evolved to the stage that anyone that does NOT believe in the way they do is labeled an infidel and therefore derserving of death, let alone if the believe in the Christian way of life. They have come a long way from what they are supposed to have been as far as their prophet Muhammed originally taught.

God Bless

It is firmly ingrained in our way of life to uphold MORALITY based on total LOVE and RESPECT to our elders, our prophets, and ultimately to the one and only GOD. We are proud of our faith that has held strong for over 1000 years, even though we will continue to be misunderstood by those different from us. We are going to keep getting misunderstood, and that's ok. We're us, and you're you. It's a free World. We stand strong, then we bravely oppose the insults and ridicule directed at us with the fire of faith in our hearts. The cartoons were extremely offensive, and it hurt and angered many of us. Would you like it if a foreigner starts burning the flags of your country or make dirty jokes about your mom infront of millions just because he thinks it's fun? The teddy bear incident was completely blown out of proportion, I believe, but I understand that after the cartoon incident, alot of these Muslims definately feel like they need to have tougher stances against these things, and hence all that riot you see splashed on the over-sensationalizing media. I still feel that poor lady was unfortunate to have experienced what she did, and I wish her Christmas a merry one with her kids back home. We are insecure about the religion of Islam getting 'watered down' like the religions before us. We're insecure about the break down of morality and respect in the years to come. We don't want that. We value our morals as much you value your liberty, so if you ridicule us, it's comparable to us challenging your notion of liberty. Why can't you understand that no two people or no two nations are alike? And why can't you accept that not every single culture in the world sees the West as the mecca of liberty and all things 'superior'?

Problem starts at the source... Mohammad married Aisha when she was 6, had sex with her when she was 9 and by her own account, was still playing with toys. So this is the most revered figure in Islam, a pedophile!

As for Logic's answer above, I don't think any one is calling for the execution over their choice of blue ray vs. hd-dvd, no one is getting beheaded for picking a 720p over 1080p hdtv, satellite over cable, AMD over Intel, HP against Dell, PC vs Mac and so on.
