I get very tired of all the politically correct garbage where people feel like they have to say Happy Holidays so they don't offend someone.

Personally, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I'm just curious what people think. Am I being insulting to people that don't celebrate Christmas?

(I asked a similar question yesterday and it was deleted because someone claimed it wasn't a question. It was a question!)

Merry Christmas! If someone gets upset, that's their problem!

I don't care what greeting people give. So no I don't get upset at Merry Christmas.

When I worked as a cashier at Walmart the last 2 Christmases, I tried saying things like "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" and they didn't sound natural. It had absolutely nothing to do with trying to be politically correct, which I don't believe in anyway. No one was offended in the least by Merry Christmas, even in the presence of my supervisors.

All of the people that I know personally that celebrate other holidays really don't care if I say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. They know what I celebrate and that is why I say Merry Christmas. I don't know anyone that has ever been offended by that (including myself).
If you are offended by Merry Christmas I think you need to seek therapy, it is you that has the big issue to deal with.

I do not hold it against someone if they wish me 'happy holidays', but ever since early morning seminary class when I learned to love Romans 1:16 [For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ] I have made it a point to always wish those I meet or care about a Merry Christmas --

So, Merry Christmas -- and God Bless us, everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I actually get a little insulted if someone says Happy Holidays. I could understand if someone were Jewish and said Happy Hanukkah, or even whatever the Muslims say (if anything) about Ramaadan, but "Happy Holidays"?! How generic! Take a stand. And if your Atheist or your religion doesn't have a December Holiday then a polite response of "And to you too." is fine with me.

While I'm probably more guilty of being PC than I'd like to admit, I love being politically INcorrect.

Honestly, I've never seen anyone get offended by the usage of "Merry Christmas".

Ironic that the only people I've seen questioning the offensive nature of saying "Merry Christmas" are the ones who actually say "Merry Christmas" and don't want to offend other people. The people who are supposedly offended don't ever seem to be.

Say "Merry Christmas" all you want. People know you mean well by saying it. If they take it offensively, it's their problem not yours. If someone came up and said, "Happy Hanukkah!", would you be offended? I surely wouldn't be.

I am actually offended when someone says Happy Holidays to me. If they do, I respond with Merry Christmas. As much as everyone seems to hate it, the reason we put up a tree and exchange presents (and in my case, go to church) on December 25 is because we are celebrating Christmas. I don't wish people Happy Holidays on Halloween or Valentines Day, so don't wish it to me on Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

No. It doesn't bother me. I celebrate Christmas. Maybe you should ask the non Christmas celebrators. It can be seen as presumptive. I don't like it when people just assume random things. It's better to ask when in doubt. It's just common courtesy. Merry Christmas to you! How would you feel if someone said to you, Happy Hanukkah! It wouldn't bother me. It's a nice greeting. I can think of much worse things that people say.
