A person can be fully religious and fully modern at the same time. Many people think that holding a religion makes them ancient, primitive as if religion is related to antiquity. Many religious people, think about future technologies, possibilities of "galactic/space travel". Let me tell you that many scientists and people working at the NASA are very religious. Their one reason (of the many): they evidence the perfect order of the universe which could have not been created by someone who were not superior and greater in all sense.

There is no inconsistency about a religious person holding concepts about "interplanetary/galactic space travel and human colonization of the galaxy". Isn't that what the Bible is all about? Isn't that the basis of the Book of Genesis?

Personally, I believe that interplanetary exploration and colonization is necessary to ensure the survival of our species, should something happen to our Earth.
However, why would you want a One World government? Personally, I think that individual rights and civil liberties would be lost if one united world-wide beaurocracy were to take over.

Absolutely. As Christians, there's no reason for us to remain cemented in "the past". We need to look to the future, and learn. God gave us science, and He gave us brains to think with. And He expects us to use both to discover all the wonders He has created. Through technology, we can become good stewards of the earth, as He has charged us to be.

Yes, most scientists throughout history were religious, some were even clergy. It's the newly converted who are most opposed to modern things and the ones who are preaching fire and brimstone that deny science.
