I'm not talking about expressing an intellectual difference, I'm talking about people abusing others for belief. Why are those shouting for tolerance be so intolerant?

Perhaps because when they learned that there is no Santa Claus, they where so devestated that they feared to believe in anything besides them selves. They are sooo traumatized!

You have to remember that there are non without faith. Everyone puts their faith into something even Athiest. Some put their faith in money, the government, their spouses, their parents, their friends. Everyone has someone or something that they believe will keep them safe or will help them in trouble. What you are talking about is people that don't admit their faith in "whatever" or don't have an organized "faith", like AA, because there is no "Lucky Rabbits Foot Congragation". The "faithless" attack and ridicule the faithfull because it is easier than admitting that they put their faith in their "lucky underware" or "dirty socks" or "fourleaf clovers" or etc.....

Also try to remember that it takes more strength to turn the other check or walk away, then to retaliate.

95% of the time, no matter who attacks whom first, these ridiculous arguments have absolutely nothing to do with truth, nor even with the beliefs themselves. It's just a psychological pissing contest. People who are insecure in their beliefs want to silence or "prove wrong" those who disagree so that there's nothing around them to challenge their beliefs. This sort of person builds up their frail ego by tearing down others. Then they rationalize their behavior by telling themselves that they have the right to behave the way they do because their beliefs are correct. It's as sad as it is annoying.

Usually, it's a counter-attack, because people who have faith often attack those who don't, or those who have a different faith.

So why can't we live and let live? Believe what feels true in our hearts, and leave other people alone to find their own truth? Wouldn't the world be much more peaceful if everyone minded their own business, and let each person be free to believe as they Will?

Because the people who have faith usually condemn those who don't instead of just respecting their beliefs. And plus, it's so irritating to watch someone dictate their life around something that isn't real. I'm all for being a good person and treat others like you want to be treated, etc. But it crosses over into personal decisions/choices and nature such as abortion, gays, etc.

Because the faithless have nothing better to do, and it's fun to watch the faithful react.

They're like cute little blushing babies, those faithful. All red with anger.

The reason is that for some reason a Christian can make a movie advertising his religion...FLAUNTING it, even....But an atheist isn't allowed to make a movie that doesn't mention the Christian god in a positive way.

Do you see why atheists get so pissy at the religious?

As a Catholic Christian, I do not try to attack someone for not having faith in Christ. I do try to inform and educate them about Jesus so that they can have Salvation. Christ is coming someday to claim his Church and I want to make every attempt Possible to gain all the people I can for Him

.2 Corinthians 5:11, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord,
we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are
made manifest in your consciences.”

Why do people who have valid reason for their belief attack those who don't have valid reasons for a belief?

Faith - Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.

I fixed your questions, this is actually what you are saying.

Everyone has faiths and believes, religous people just believe that people who don't believe in gods have any faith, but they do.
