Its an allegory (Gal 4:24) so please only answer if you understand the hidden manna is encoded inside the outer stories. These stories are parables and allegories and not meant to be taken literally or historically, to be carnally minded is death, spiritually mindedness brings life and peace.

I don't but am interested in the Salem Witch Trials. If you are interested, read "Beyond the Burning Time" by Kathryn Lasky. It is a fiction book but uses characters from the real Salem Witch Trials.

Whenever I've asked a Christian the question "Do you have to have good works to be saved?" I've pretty well universally been answered: "No" Some Christians will go on to explain that a person that has truly accepted Jesus Christ will have a change of heart (that is they are born again) with the result being good works associated with salvation.

I have come to the conclusion that the very question is too full of religiously loaded words to really get at what I am asking. Apparently Christians have been taught to associate the concept of "Good Works" with Synergism (i.e. salvation comes in part through the merit of your good works impressing God.) or even with full on salvation via merit of works.

So recognizing this, how do you feel about me rewording the question to be “Will any Christian in a truly saved state bring forth good works in their life?” (Assume we are not including someone that accepts Christ and intends to bring forth good works but dies before their chance.) ...

Think about it... Moses "learned all the wisdom of Egypt". This wisdom became a part of Judaism through the esoteric wisdom of Kabbalah. Kabbalah, at its base, can provide an amazingly deep understanding of the roots of Christianity, and Christians return from soul on Earth to spirit in God. I'm not getting into it too deeply, but as a Christian, I am reading of Kabbalah and its wisdom (I don't follow it -- that's for Jews who have studied it their whole lives), and I'm amazed at its deeper meanings and ties to Christianity. There is a deeper, common wisdom to all religions, of which esoteric Christianity is the perfection.

This comes to my next question... why are people afraid of this wisdom? Moses himself learned it in Egypt, and he is a father of Judaism, and therefore Christianity as well. This is the ancient wisdom taught in mystery schools such as Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism, the "Illuminati", that leads to enlightenment. I didn’t join the schools, but had been enlightened and illumed as to my true nature through the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ, technically making ME an Illuminati as well. I know myself, and this is the bottom line of all religions: Know yourself. Jesus Christ changed my life and made me whole again, and my life has been the best since He came into my life. Some people are looking for the underlaying deeper teachings of this enlightenment through these schools, and if you read about them, you’ll discover that they teach of the Ultimate God, who is truly the Christian God above all the universe.

So, why are people scared of this?

This is more about debate than a correct answer. But i find it intriguing and arrived at this philosophy after studying cosmology and the origins of the universe. I will select the best response, then send my own conclusion to that person.

I know a few athiests and they have admitted its rubbish because it shows what an unconvicing athiest richard dawkins really is, I read it the other week and I totally agree.
In his arguments against God, the sloppy thinking gets even worse. We are repeatedly assured that a universe where God existed would be very different from one where he did not. This, Dawkins claims, makes God a scientific hypothesis. But we are never told how the universe would be different if God didn’t exist, or what experiment we should do to verify his non-existence. The treatment of the traditional proofs of God's existence is largely an attack on straw men. The cosmological argument is far stronger than Dawkins gives it credit for and he does not bother interact with its modern proponents like William Lane Craig. On the ontological argument, Alvin Plantinga is the man to go to, but Dawkins goes nowhere near him.

I'm not against athiests what so ever but richard dawkin really is pathetic!

When I was loading my groceries this morning into my hatchback, a woman came up to me with literature and asked me if my spirit was saved. It was pouring with rain and I didn't want to be bothered but I was polite enough to say no thank you I'm not interested in the literature. This particular lady accepted my answer and told me to have a nice day and went on to other people at their cars. How would you have reacted?

I think my pastor does not like me. Everytime I come up to the alter to give my offering he runs off the pulpit and goes back up when I reach my seat. I have noticed this several times each sunday. I really love this church and it is hard for me because, I say this in the most humble way I can because I think they may not be used very attractive women in the penacostal/ame church. I like to where some make and I used to be a runway model in paris. I am not a hoe and I do make eye contact with the pastor and other people in the church. Why when he sees me coming he flees! I am scared as I would love to be involved, but I don't want to cause any man temptation or have a bad reputation as a jezabel!

What could be the problem as to why he does this? Is this my fault and what can I do to stop it. I dress modestly and try not to look at men in the church. I have happend to run into him a few times where he happed to be. Does he think I am after him or something? What can I do to change?
