you told them how you "really felt" do not be sorry & do not try for forgiveness it is not for you to ask.
what you believe in your heart is what you should follow as far as any "religious path goes" not what some one asks you to follow,

haha this is interesting, a praying session because of a test, I wonder how many angry phone calls the school got?
Well dancing is a form of prayer according to some christians. but if you didn't want to dance, then that's not really a problem, at least it shouldn't be.
When you said you felt like a kid while praying, you didn't insult the religion persay, you insulted the people in the group cause you were saying that you thought that the way they were praying was juvenile.
As for forgivness, just go to them and say that you didn't like or want to dance and you felt silly doing it. make sure to point out that you didn't think the dancing was silly, you just didn't feel comfortable dancing. I don't think it's something they should be too upset over, and they should understand.
(besides, forgiveness is a very important christian value ;) )

I don't think a person can insult a religion, but it does seem likely that you offended the people. And since most people respond well to sincere apologies and honesty, tell them that you apologize if you offended anyone, but do not understand the significance of the dance you participated in. Ask if someone is kindly willing to explain it to you as it was not your intention to offend anyone and you want to learn so that you do not make the same mistake again in the future.

Different forms of Christianity believe different things. CCCU's don't believe in dancing, but others do. If you don't want to sing and dance, don't. You don't have to sing and dance to be a Christian, and you don't have to apologize to them for being uncomfortable with dancing. If these people are who they say they are they shouldn't be mad at you in the first place (what kind of Christian condems someone for not dancing with them?). Hope you do well on your test, good luck!

Explain to your fellow students your origins and religious affiliation differences, mindful that you were unaware of their mode of worship. Apologize for your seemingly rudeness out of ignorance and you should be all right.
Your peer group must remember that many countries, such as America, is a melting pot of hundreds of religions, cultures, traditions, and practices. You are among that group just as they are in the mix.

I am sure it was just a misunderstangin. Anyone who would be insulted by such a comment needs to grow up.
True Christians are accepting and forgiving of others.

You either are not an American or else you attend a private school. No one does this.
No teacher "orders" anyone to "get into his or her religion" and pray about an upcoming test.

You can't insult a religion if you have no knowledge of it, but if you feel you did go ask if you did and if the answer is yes then tell them you didn't have knowledge of their beliefs.
