my whole life ilve been raised as a jehovahs witness, basically my entire family are involved in it.. about 18 months ago i told my parents the truth, i no longer want to be involved. i wasnt baptized or anything. ive been looking online for some kind of support but all i can find is ppl bagging them out and saying they are a cult etc. i dont agree... i dont have anything against it but its not for me.. what ever floats you boat.. it might sound wierd but im enjoying not thinking about that kind of stuff .. but im just having a really hard time trying to adjust and with my family trying to adjust with me not living by their standards. anyone been where i am ?? or are they here now?? it would just be nice to hear some other experiences and know im not the only one out there.. cos i dont know know what else to do

I am an atheist. I have two children at school. Now I believe that my children have the right to grow up and decide for themselves what they believe. If they follow a religious path, so be it.
But I am against my childrens school forcing my children to pray every morning assembly. This is not a strictly religious school. This is just a state school. The nearest one we have.
I asked the head mistress to excuse my girls from praying each morning in assembly. I was refused. Why? My children are five years old! Too young to decide which side of the fence they are on. I don't preach my atheism to my kids. So I don't appreciate the school preaching their faith to them. I want them to choose their own path.

I suppose my question is, was it wrong of me to ask them to excuse my children, or was it wrong of them to refuse my request?

So if there is a god, how can he send me to hell? Did he create me for that purpose? I find the idea of religion ridiculous? Why am I created this way? Surely he must have known this. Any help??

I have asked many questions as to why if god is so loving he creates evil and punishes his "creation" and many christians say its the same with having children - you know they will disobey you but you still love them.....

i am a parent and I can think of nothing more abhorrent than punishing my child with death and eternal torture,so why is this supposed to be a good analogy?

hey, as a Chicano, i'm getting tired of all the bullsh*t being spewed by bunch of people who happen to have a chip on their shoulder for no apperant reason. You guy say that we are here to freeload off the system, but in fact we can't because if our national status. We came here to work and for in search of a dream in the same way as the founders of this country did to better their lives. Aren't we heroes too? We came here to better ourselves and risk our lives and leave our families behind and our land and culture in this search of a dream that we all want a part of, and instead we are harrased and treated as inferiors because all we want to do is work and be part of the same hopes and dreams and have the same opportunities as all you have. We are here that in hope that our offspring and future generation can surpass and not live through the same struggle as our parents and grandparents once did. We are the epitomy of the American dream, we risk everything even life for it...Remember.

The Bible mentions that it travelled and then stopped for the Magi. How would that work since stars don't do that kind of thing?

Was it from God or Satan? I have heard both.

Something of that magnitude and magnificence would be hard for the rest of the world to miss, so why was it not recorded in secular history?

The people who run the Republican Party have done a very effective job in rallying Christian voters around a few key issues, but If the average Christian voter were to take the time to understand the "Big Picture", they would realize they are supporting much that is contradictory to the true teachings of Jesus???

Because I always dream about life after death..just like i pass through the other side....it so dark and suddenly theres a road crosses rivers....its a thin road, that if u fall to the river then you will die...but if pass it theres a lot of people in white dress singing and waving hands.....i think thier waiting something to came up...

Problem No. 1
How did the universe come about?
There is no scientific law that allows something to evolve from nothing. If there was nothing in the universe to begin with, obviously nothing could happen to cause anything to appear.

Atheistic evolutionists often try to duck this problem by saying that evolution is not concerned with the origin of life, only how life progressed after it appeared. But if you can't get something from nothing, it's pointless thinking you can accurately explain the next step. Juggle the figures any way you like, but without a Creator you are not going to get anything, let alone everything.

When he's acting totally out of character and is usually well balanced and asks for what he needs?

But recently is resorting to manipulation and behaving like a big tart, when he knows full well my tolerance for such emotional outbursts is minimal.

I don't want to lose him as a friend but his behaviour is making me go ewwwwwwwwww!

Most ppl are telling me to dump him and my natural instinct when confronted with this type of behaviour would be to do just that, but I can't just walk away because 1) I also have a business relationship with him which requires notice and 2) he has been a good friend in the past and this type of behaviour is only recent since he dumped his old boyfriend and found a new man. So I think it's only fair to give him a chance. Unfortunately, I am getting very upset mainly because I feel my friend has been captured by aliens and he has been replaced by this big snivelling girlie thing.

Am I being too fair, or am I being a total b*tch?

Sometimes, I get so flustered with many of the diseases and mental illnesses, I crave for the presence of the Lord to rest on me. I want to see folk healed. I would love to pray for those with HIV or AIDS. Am I wasting my time?

I started this question within my church small group and it really stirred everyone up. It seems people really feel strongly about this. I would prefer any answers to be backed up by scripture. Many felt that if intelligent alien life did exist, that the Bible would be false.

The 2nd Iraq war was started by Bush Jr. on the false pretext of existence of WMD in Iraq. Iraq was invaded, its president and his relatives and top leaders have been killed, thousands of army men and innocent civilians have been killed. And as a fallout , many retaliatory suicide acts by iraqi guerrillas have been killing many every day.

If the war was started on the FALSE PRETEXT, then responsibility of these killings also must be fixed & trials should be done just the same as done for Hitler & nazis.
