Evolutionists who reject God and miracles have three huge problems to explain.

Problem No. 1
How did the universe come about?
There is no scientific law that allows something to evolve from nothing. If there was nothing in the universe to begin with, obviously nothing could happen to cause anything to appear.

Atheistic evolutionists often try to duck this problem by saying that evolution is not concerned with the origin of life, only how life progressed after it appeared. But if you can't get something from nothing, it's pointless thinking you can accurately explain the next step. Juggle the figures any way you like, but without a Creator you are not going to get anything, let alone everything.

MAR 8:12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

Problem No. 1 - no, there is no scientific law that allows something to evolve from nothing (in the macro universe - in the quantum universe this happens all the time). But 10 years ago there was no way you could transfer 10gb of film from the internet onto your computer. 100 years ago there was no relativity. 500 years ago the world was flat. Science has NEVER claimed it knows all the answers. There wasn't NOTHING in the universe to begin with anyway - it depends what school of thought you go to. Either there was about an ounce of matter compressed into an unbelievably tiny space, or there was everything compressed into a singularity. The universe still had all its stuff, but it was just in a much smaller space. HOW and not WHY is the question for science.

As for where THAT came from science cannot explain. Perhaps from another dimension - who knows. You equally cannot answer where God came from. God cannot have appeared from nothing, just as the singularity cannot have appeared from nothing.

PLEASE READ THIS, AN ATHEIST PERSPECTIVE COMING IN PEACE!

science is not based on knowing everything, its about discovering new things through observable fact.

Not knowing what came before the big bang is not a statement that it can never be found out, nor is it a licence to invent something to fill the gap. Don't you see thats what faith is??? You say we don't know what was there before the universe therefore you assume your invented wisdom has more validity.

But dont you see that your way of doing it means that anyone in the world could say anything and it would be equally valid to your god theory???

Like i could say a cosmic gorilla invented the universe by mating with a space mushroom and it would hold exactly the same about of scientific validity as your religious theory...

The things you say are not huge problems neither are "evolutionists" "ducking" the issue. We are simply saying "we don't know" and thats OKAY because it just means we have more to learn.

We know how evolution works and that revealed part of the picture. We don't know how the universe was created, but we might find out if we keep experimenting and observing. We don't need to invent something to fill the gap because we are happy with the current limits of science and are willing to wait for proof before we make up our mind.

You can go on faith, i can't, i need proof to feel comfortable before i give my dedication to something.

THAT IS REAL ATHIESM nothing more.

Admittedly it makes it hard for an athiest to see from your perspective, but really this just comes down to what i said, we need proof, we can't understand why you don't.

I really hope this helps you understand, perhaps you can find it in the spirit of your religion to respect that other people simply don't believe as you do...

I'm curious why you chose to address evolution rather than abiogenesis.

Nonetheless, I do not undertand where the universe 'came from', neither do I know if it isn't just one Universe within a gazillion others that all exist forever in one form or another, I also don't know if time there isn't helical, and oh, endless other stuff that I can't get my head around.

I could always just pretend to know, and then say that a man in the sky musta made it for us.

But I'm not that egotistical regarding our species, or that unimaginative regarding the infinite possibilities, many of which may well be beyond even the most advanced scientific or philosophical mind. I am not that arrogant either.

I can happily say 'I don't know about the beginning of the Universe' because that is the truth. That doesn't affect my understanding of evolution.

In truth I wish that everyone was as honest, and not willing to fight over their doctrines and beliefs.

OK Acid lets say that this god exists and created all of the heavens & the Earth. Do you really think you are capable of knowing anything of what this god thinks or cares about?

We live on this rock, we have a good view of one star and can see an uncountable number of others in this Milkyway.

From here we have a good view of one galaxy, and can see countless others. Andromda contains Billions of stars. Its probable that each star has some planet. Its probable that each planet has some moons. Its probable that each other galaxy is basicly the same. Its probable that if this creator exists that you, I or no other living thing on any of the colum squared number of rocks have the slightest clue as to why anything was created. Further to think for a second that this creator is watching you is some sort of pathalogical condition.
If god created all then he is far beyond any understanding that we can muster, far beyond the realm of even our imaginations.
You see its not that I don't believe in god its just that there is no way I can believe that I know anything of the motivations of this god, and to apply any human charactaristics to this creator is just insane.

keep on thumping
Look to heavens for salvation

As an atheist, fist let me say that it's wrong to generalize us. Each one of us is different.

See, how did the universe come about. The answer to the this question for me is a big resounding I DON'T KNOW. But, the great thing is, I don't need an explanation for how the universe began. I don't need to know. I'd like to know, but it's not necessary.

Of course, I could come back with the same arguments. I am a being of science and fact. Prove something and I'll take it. You can't prove to me that God exists. It's called faith for a reason. Maybe you can prove to YOURSELF that god and satan exist, but you can't prove it to me. I can prove to you that gravity accelerates at 9.8 m/s/s. I can prove that water is composed of two Hydrogen atoms and an Oxygen atom. I can prove all sorts of things, but I can't prove that god or satan exists or that we all have everlasting souls.

So again, to answer your question, I don't know. I'm not ducking or dodging anything. I am always happy to answer anybody's questions as to why I believe what I believe. Hell, if you want to talk about it, I'm open. BUT, don't attack my beliefs the way you did or I'm tempted to attack back and then we would get nowhere. I'm an atheist, and I'm guessing you're a christian. The only thing capable of changing my beliefs is myself. The same goes for you.

So here's my advice. You can think that atheists are idiots, go right ahead, but think it, don't say it. Be happy that you've found a religion that gives youwhat you need. And be happy that I've found a religion (or lack thereof) that gives me what I need. I don't need saving, nor do I want to be saved. Let me live my life and I'll let you live yours.

I'm gonna ignore the fact that you confused evolution, atheism, abiogenesis and big bang theory as the same thing and answer this:

The state of the Universe prior to the Big Bang can never truly be known. Abiogenesis may be reproduced in a lab but until evidence is clearer we'll never know exactly how life began. Evolution is proven fact but common descent, speciation and the theory behind it all cannot be proven 100%.

Despite all this, I choose not to feign ignorance over man's lack of knowledge and apply a deity to cover the holes. Saying "God did it" does not cover up missing information. I'd rather say "we don't know".

your comment is just yet another example of how much he world lacks consideration. First of all, who are YOU..to tell anyone, that because of their beliefs, that they have to explain themselves to ANYONE??

just because atheist don't believe in god, doesn't mean they don't have their own theory as to how the world was created. What makes you so much better than others that you can proclaim your OPINION of how the world was created is right? becuase you step into a church every sunday? I don't understand you people and don't really care to.

Apparently you can't be a very happy person if you look for places to criticize others beliefs and act like you are more superior.

You just assumed all atheist have the same beliefs..ha...there really is way too much ignorance in this world!

Matter and energy are two forms of the same thing (read Einstein). Energy is neither created or destroyed (First Law of Thermodynamics). Therefore, the universe can certainly be eternal.
