So if there is a god, how can he send me to hell? Did he create me for that purpose? I find the idea of religion ridiculous? Why am I created this way? Surely he must have known this. Any help??

I don't think you need help - you've taken the first golden step to Atheism by noting the absurdity of Religion.

Sir,
l God loves you more than your mothes does.there is a purpose of creating people even some to serve as a BAD EXAMPLE like your parents doNOT want you to do bad and they hit you or get angry on you when you do bad. they even care and love you when you do some good work, then God who had created you can never hate you.he wants you to be good and he sends you to heaven if you're good.
before you were created, your soul was a useless thing. you should be happy that you are one of the lucky soul to whom God gifted a body.He wants you to show your talent and do SOMEthing good for other or yourself.I am sorry to say but it is very selfish of you to regret the gift of God.
Sir you said that IF THERE IS A GOD...what do you mean by that? of course there IS a God who has created You and the universe. how can you deny that.If I say to you that I was going to cross a river once and hadn't any boat and then saw that a tree cut down by itsself and a boat was made by its self so you will be saying that the person is mad.nothing can be made by itsself. So how can you say that the universe is created by No one there is a creator of a thing that exist.

I hope you understand me. :)

Birdy, God does not make mistakes. I don't know how you were created but most likely it was to teach you or some one else a very valuable lesson in life. And I don't mean this in a bad way.
I'm sorry that you are having a low moment but there is a reason and its your to find out what. That is your purpose. Religion is not spiritual. Religion is man made to help people to find God and get spirituality. But spirituality is God made. Pray to God to help you find the purpose of your life.
I know you are thinking "Ya its easy for you to say" But you have to first understand that you are the one asking. And we are here only to help you get to feeling better and hopefully to get closer to God.

Opus,
quoted those scriptures so graciously but not with clarity. For instance in Job's case it was Satan who caused the calamity on Job. Yes God permitted it but it serves as an example that even though evil is about, God contains it. Also it points to even Satan being a servant of God albeit an unwilling servant. Never the less Satan finds himself obeying God in the over all scheme of things. So, my friend my advice to you is to not try to outwit God, that is futile, simply befriend Him and live graciously...forever.

After your death previously you were wandering here and there & longing for the physical pleasure which you could not get due to lack of a physical body.
Once upon a time you went out to enjoy a couple having sex. While doing so , the forces of nature trapped you and pushed you into that vagina to be born as a baby there in that womb.

To add to this two people decide to have sex wanting a child or not the child was not present to cast a vote as to whether he or she wanted to be born. In bible terms if you don't live a certain way then you will go to hell when you die, I know if a person asks Jesus to forgive them of their sins then they will become a christain and go to heaven. Ok now their is sin in the world and lots of it, for instance one of the worst people ever born was hitler and he was responsible for killing 6 million jews and about 50 million people total died in world war 2 because of him. Some people live good lives may be in good health and live happy lives some maybe sickly and or die of cancer yet love God why this all happens is hard to understand. Personally I would never have wanted to be born if I could have made that choice my dad took us all to church, never missed a prayer meeting and helped others but he was mean and hateful to his family. I could write a book of my life of bad things happening im 63 yrs old. I don't have one happy memory ever in my life but if I kill myself to end the pain then the bible says I will go to hell, I went to church full gospel for 30 yrs tried to live a christain life helped people but lots of back stabbers in church too, fellow workers at jobs stabbed me in the back so to speak past relationships were a living hell and most people want a free hand out besides ive had my checking acct cleaned out. Friends who hurt then laugh and yet I haven't had to endure the pain a lot of people have gone through in their lives don't misunderstand me im not a complainer but I still wish I had never been born I never would have had to go through the pain and hurt ive endured in my life so wheres the solution I don't see one . My children didn't ask to be born or created either, but they are aware that they are part of this family and are expected to behave a certain way. If they choose to behave another way and to reject us as their parents, I can do nothing but allow them to do so. So it is with God. He loved you before time began, and saw you and I with all our faults, even knew if we would love Him back or not, and chose to create us anyway. You may not see him, maybe you will one day. I did not see him until I was 28..
You too can choose to live another way, but there are always consequences. We have plenty of warning, there is no excuse.

Try reading 'the shock of your life' by Adrian Holloway, even if you don't end up agreeing with it, you may have a better understanding of why we believe what we do. Or better still, get all your questions answered by doing an alpha course.

Albert Einstein believed in God, and had a fine quote about Him. Rather than give you a poor paraphrase, please look it up. No asked to be born, but considering the magnitude of the gift, thanks and a reverent regard in terms of lifestyle and comportment are to be offered. A life well-lived will not be placed in hell.

God (to all those who are no way religious) had nothing to do with it. Your parents conceived you and dont believe anything else. I know you didn't ask to be born but that doesn't mean you shouldn't live your life to the full

None of us asked to be born. I didn't and neither did my children but most of us have a longing for a family of our own. If we give in to this need, then we have a RESONSIBILITY to do our very best for our offspring. I don't mean by giving them all the material things they wish for but by loving them more than we love ourselves and trying to help them to find the best path in life for them.
