I've never been interested in seeming only being but have discovered after being apart of this q/a forum for a considerable length of time that many simply ask a question in the hopes that people will give them answers akin to their already preconceived thought on the subject. This is just plain dumb and counter productive to the persuit of truth an knowledge.

In short... I dont get it...

Saul of Tarsus was not the most reliable witness: Why do Christians instantly believe his vision of Christ? and why do they now follow Paul's interpretation of his vision instead of the teachings of Jesus?
this is not me having a go, this is me trying to understand why Christians follow the teachings of man of whom never met their God.

In the case of "Yes, I would die in support of my religious beliefs but only in the (perhaps unlikely) event that it was deemed absolutely necessary, or if my god hero wanted me to for some mysterious holy reason" then aren't you just a walking psychopath suicide bomber nuclear war starter waiting to happen? I mean aren't you just one "I heard Jesus in my head," away from creating a giant disaster?

The Didache (also known as The Teaching of the Twelve Disciples) gives specific instructions on such things as Holy Baptism and the Eucharist. In other words, what is written clears up a lot of the things Christian denominations fight about. The problem is that it wasn't discovered until the 19th century, and it's a composite work, so there's no definite way of knowing who wrote it. But some say the earliest parts of the Didache were written around 50 AD, which would make it even older than the Synoptic Gospels. Should it then be added to the Bible? Why or why not? And if it were, how much difference would it make in the Church? Would there not be more unity?

Here is one English translation:

What would trigger this? Do people revert back to some hidden primitive innate spiritual side when death is near?

For instance, I bet some of those people fleeing for their lives from the California fires are praying, when they have never prayed before. Do they just expect God to help them now, because they are in trouble? Is this how people think God works?

All the petiness thats comming from "other" sources.... I know it sounds like I am over reacting....but, when I first came across the Senior section it was when I was just about to stop comming on Y/A altogether because I was sick of encountering a lot of stupid and sick individuals, I got to realise I just did not want to be subjected to that sort of thing, I firmly believe being involved in so much negativity is so bad for anyone, so I was'nt going to put up with it no longer....and like I said, I found the Seniors, I was so pleased, because there was so many lovely people on this..... but now all the patheticness of other users comming over and aiming their childish spite has spoilt it....our life can be stressful enough with all the things we have to deal with in our Day to Day life without adding to it by comming on here to put up with more....I am a very sensitive person, can't help it, it's the way I am, I hate being misunderstood, and that happens on here with just .........

over and over again?

Seriously, look at any random question about christianity or the Bible and you will see the same standard atheist answers constantly
its just a myth
its all just a fairytale anyways
you have to give up free thinking
you have to give up your will
you have to not read any science books.....

Do the same answers over and over against constitute free thinking?

I am not saying all atheists do it, but lets face it, on this message board, a lot do.
I really dont have any issues with most atheists. I actually agree with a lot of their criticisms with a lot of christians. But how in the world can people that constantly recite these phrases to questions they really should simply ignore, type these standard phrases without seeing the irony?

Also, how did you become a Christian if you are one? What does a JW have to do in order to become one of the 144,00 that will go to heaven? Do you believe in the literal body resurrection of Jesus? If no please explain. Please use the scriptures from the New World Translation and the King James Bible since most people have a KJV but may not have a NWT.
Thank you for your cooperation.

OK, please let the JW's answer this.

Bible was there 600 years before Mohammad wrote Kuran. In Kuran it is written that they should read the Bible and believe it.You claim Koran to be 4th book after bible.
In Bible it is written that God says about his redemption through His son in many verses. Read the following:-
Ps 2:12
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in hi

Right now in San Diego they are one of the major organizations donating food, supplies and opening up the church buildings for evacuees.

Are these the kind of things that are going to get us mormons sentenced to an eternity of fiery torture and hell?

Do you really think a loving God just ignores all the good a church or a person does and sends them to hell forever because they didnt quite get it all here on earth?

SHERRYN: Who defied me to even mention your name again?

The first two times I mentioned your delightful name was to ask if anyone else found you as condescending and pompous as me. 24 people did.
I replied to those 24 by way of Best Answer.
Since that time - 2 weeks ago - I have never given you another single thought - that is how 'obsessed' I am with you!
If you do not email me - I promise you - I have no desire to be in any sort of contact with you.
And you know all that suspension crap you threatened me with?
OH PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT I BEG YOU - MY LIFE WOULD BE OVER IF YOU DID SUCH A THING!

SHERRYN: Go do whatever you do to get your rocks off kid!
Me?
I'll just carry on having the best life possible with more friends that you know exist! As Goldwing would say - go in peace and love.
Difference is ................. he is sincere - quess what?
I would just say ......................GO

I can tell you right now I am. And I'm continuously perplexed how seemingly loving, decent Christian people would ever stoop so low as to "accept" that that's a reasonable punishment.

I'll go a step further. I think it's inhumane, selfish, and vicious to think that's a reasonable punishment. If god is so selfish that he needs me to acknowledge him as existing, or else I'm going to roast on Satan's BBQ for all eternity, then I must say, I'm glad I'm not religious.

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to share a cell with Gandhi in Hell, because he's going to hell for the same reason I am right? All I'm trying to say is that reason and compassion seem to go RIGHT out the window with Christians when gauging what's important in life, and folks, that is, and is only, being a kind loving decent human being.
