My Cat Lorilie of 17 years passed away tonight. Lorilie was the Valkyrie that ushered the dead to Valhalla.

Tonight, a friend took me to an Irish sort of honor, drinking, and brought back a bunny, since, Lorilie liked bunnies...but a dirge in the most respectful way, friends abound, and the funeral is tomorrow as we have prepared her as the Native Americans and Wiccans will smile upon.

I found the poem here it is for your beloved Cat Lorilie :::::

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

i am so very sorry to hear of her passing. she lived a long happy life loved by her humans. she is now free to chase and play with bunnies all she wants now. how i wish you lived near us. we have a dutch bunny who needs a home (my allergies don't like rabbits). if you don't mind, i'll say a prayer for lorilie, and we have 3 butterfly bushes in our yard. the most beautiful one we have is so purple, it is almost black. we have not yet named her. so in honor of lorilie ,she will be named. if this ok let me know. and for your, be blessed with the precious memories of her love for you.

I really have no answer except to say that some vague essence of this purrfect soul came through to me and touched me in an empty place within my heart... words fail me now but I hope you understand what I am trying to convey to you... thank you for sharing this somber moment and i will ask my ever -so- clever Wiccan contacts to answer if they can.

Wish her good luck on her journey to the other world!!!

She has migrated from this blessed life to another even more meaningful, leaving her mark on all she came in touch with.

Grieve!!! Grieve, my friend, till there are no more tears and only sweet memories linger lovingly purring in your heart. And then, grieve no more, for it'll hurt her to see you sad.

She hasn't gone far.
She'll always be near.
She'll nap in the sun
and purr in your ear.
Listen, whenever
you're hearing her cry
remember she loves you
she'll keep stopping by.

Sorry to hear of your pet.
When our pets die we dig a hole in the garden and bury them there or out behind the wood shed.
No big deal. Though it makes a hole in our hearts.
So my blessings would be for you to overcome your sadness and have another drink. (and one for me)

As long as it comes from your heart all is acceptable my friend. She knows you and yours. Look for her spirit to visit you on Samhain when the veil is at it's thinnest. THen is your time to speak to her for she will be very near. Peace my friend.....Crone......
