I think science will always be one step ahead of religion.

Evidence:
Members of Church interpret the sun revolves around the earth.
Aristotle (scientist) said the earth revolves around the sun and was severely punished.

Evolution:
Bible says God created everything.
Charles Darwin claims Humans have evolved from monkeys. and scientist actually found Homo-Erectus bodies and old Homo Sapien bodies similar to the Homo Erectus

so i answered a q earlier tonight about abortion... every response was about how it is murder aside from 1.

just as your god gives you the choice not to support it- do you not belive that god gives liberally the freedom of choice to all of his children?? i am not religious- though i was raised very religious. i know the concepts of the bible.

so say a child is molested? what if someone's life is in danger continuing a pregnancy?

my personal view is- i do not in any means condone abortion as b/c or support late term abortions. but i believe not only is it every woman's right to chose, but also every man's.

personal experience: 19 yrs old, in college, working as an EMT making $6.oo/hr. boyfriend in same boat. we used b/c. because of antibiotics i still got prego. we decided together we wanted to have children but wanted to wait until we were able to give a child everything it needed and deserved.
am i really a "murderer" because of this? if so, why???

What religion was it that thought the world was going to end at the beginning of 2000?

Apparently there was some guy my dad worked with who saved no money, even for his daughter's college, because he thought Jesus would come back in 2000. I'm thinking it was Jehovah's Witnesses, but I'm not sure.

And please don't turn this into a religious debate. I just want to know the answer to the question. (By the way... if there is more than one religion... details please!)

Should the negative be proven, that there is no higher power...or does it have to be the positive, that there is a higher power?

Of course, it is impossible to prove a negative. So really, could the 'prove there is no god' questions cease? Cause it's just not possible...you know? *sigh*

You can't prove something doesn't exist, you have to prove it does. Ya know?

I need some verses that relate to jealousy.
My idea is to put a bunch of nice things in a paper pag and a bunch of garbage in a nice gift wrapped box, then make the children chose which one they would prefer.

The lesson is to show that just because the outside is weathered and in expensive doesn't mean the there is nothing to offer inside. Also that just because the nice box had a pretty outside doesn't mean that it's not empty except for garbage.


We are experiencing a lot of issues with our girls bragging about their "things" and trying to make "poor" looking girls jealous.
What can I use to back this up from scripture.

ok, first off i would like to point out that i am serious this time, i know i've asked a few stupid questions about god...

but really, im not religous, but opparintly being gay is a sin. so my question is why am i gay, if people arent suppost to be gay. and have prayed (although i dont know how) to ask god to make me straight, i wish i was, but im still gay.... and i dont like it. why has god made me this way? can he make me straight?



and before you ask, i AM gay... i know i am attracted to men, and not woman, there is no quetion about it, i've already attempted suicide over it.

I am not new here, so I am looking for a more detailed description. I see fundie interchanged with Christian alot. I always thought I was a fundie, then I was told by someone I was not.

So, I want everyones take on what a fundie is specifically and how does a fundie differ from a born again Christian, evangelical, Catholic, run of the mill protestant, etc (if there is a difference?) Thanks in advance!

that they were wrong, than atheists being able to accept the fact if there was evidence of a deity(ies)?

When you think about it, particularly christians, some have quoted being terrified to find out there was no god afterall. SO terrified they feel as if they'd lose all direction in life.

Many atheists WANT proof. Most proclaim that they will believe with tangible evidence.

I'm not trying to point fingers, it's merely an observation I have been pondering on for awhile.

im 14 and i live in toronto and ive been really thinking about ways to help out rather than moping about how stupid my life is. the thing is, i just need to know where to start and how it's gonna be. if i were to collect peoples old winters clothing for the homeless, would i just distribute them out on random streets, or would i give them in to some organiztation? and if givingin in to an organization, which would that be?

We know that clearly giants existed in those times from the versus listed above. If dinosaurs and giants both became extinct do to the flood then why is it that we do not find giant human fossils. We find dinosaur fossils all the time!

The profession of shaman has many advantages. It offers high status with a safe livelihood free of work in the dreary, sweaty sense. In most societies it offers legal privileges and immunities not granted to other men. But it is hard to see how a man who has been given a mandate from on High to spread tidings of joy to all mankind can be seriously interested in taking up a collection to pay his salary; it causes one to suspect that the shaman is on the moral level of any other man. But it’s lovely work if you can stomach it.

this question makes me laugh because people argue about it so much and which ever side your on you cant budge the other side to change there mind :D
i DO NOT believe in evolution, im not sure how we got here but evolution has NOT been proven and the skull charles darwin placed his theory on was infact a fake (look it up if you dont believe me) even if the skull was real i still wouldnt believe it because it has not been proven. so my first question is
1. do you believe in evolution? and
2. most people believe evolution proves theres no god, why? could evolution be the answer to how and not the answer to why?
3. do you think people who dont believe in evolution are stupid?
