the 'meaning' of the 'fundie' label has as much to do with the beliefs of the person tossing the label about as with the person(s) being labeled. to a born-again Christian, a fundie night be someone like fred phelps or someone from one of those snake-handling churches. to a catholic, pretty much any protestant is fair game for the label-they seem to especially like the term 'bible-fundies'. to a 'casual/cultural christian (or like describe them, 'pew fillers') who can be found at church, usually nodding off and racing for the door at the end of a service, a fundie would be a 'born-again' Christian...to an atheist and/or a lot of the trolls posting on R&S, a fundie is anyone who believes in anything besides himself or herself. it's generally used as an 'insult', although it's one of the least effective-it generally fails to deliver the devastating blow intended to the target, and reveals the 'insulter' as a bigot

The person who answered " a Pharisee" had the closest definition to my own definition.
The problem starts when someone takes the New Testament and makes it into what may be referred to as 'another Law' ; like that of the Law of Moses. They tend to actually borrow things from the Law of Moses and make them a part of Christianity.
They lean on James as if James was to be held in high regard like Paul, or Peter, or John - who were Apostles unlike James. They marry what Paul said with what James said, even though they were not saying the same thing.
So I would call any of those denominations that you mentioned capable of being a Fundie. Their common theme is to cause others to live the perceived 'clean' way they are living as 'acceptable' to God.
The warning signs of a Fundie: (unofficial )
1) They think that Christianity means that you have to follow the Ten Commandments.
2) They think that James and Paul are reconcilable.
3) They think that they have found the way to live that is pleasing to God- which is done by observing the parts of the Law of Moses, and the other things like not smoking, not drinking alcohol, wearing only certain kinds of clothing, etc.
4) Mormons and Roman Catholics are almost always Fundies.
5) Most Protestants are almost always Fundies. ( Not always!)
6) They have a pet peeve sin which to them, clearly shows that other Christians are backsliding, far from God, etc. which have nothing to do with trusting God.
7) They may mention 'saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ', but add on sometimes many things which show that they really came close, but don't really have it. Such popular preachers as Greg Laurie, Chuck Smith, ( I have heard most of those on 107.9 FM KWVE support some Fundie notions), are some examples. They have come so close, but are on any particular day, supportive of Fundie ideals, I'm sorry to say.

A fundie is a modern Pharisee. Basically any person who thinks that anyone they think as not 'saved' to be bad. A person with a 'holier than thou' attitude who judges other people just because they are different. People who take the bible literally, and condemn anyone else who doesn't and live by what it says down to the letter. Some of the nice people I've met who claim they are fundies don't really fit this actual description.

Fundie or fundy (plural fundies) is a pejorative slang term used to refer to religious fundamentalists of any faith group, although it is primarily directed towards fundamentalist Christians. The term is intentionally derogatory, and is used most commonly by those opposed to the Religious Right movement. The term is often associated with religiously motivated conservative moral beliefs, especially those regarding social issues.
In etymological terms, fundie is an example of a mutated contraction resulting from relaxed pronunciation, where the original word (in this case Fundamentalist) is shortened and slightly altered. There is no recorded first use of the term, though its appearance in the American English vocabulary coincided with the rise of Christian politics in the 1970s.
The word can be used derogatorily to refer to anyone with a strong outspoken belief in any religion, any cause or any concept. This use is less common.
The term is used liberally in various publications and in common speech. Atheist publications and websites use the term frequently. While fundamentalists object to the term, it is not considered hate speech by the general public.

In popular usage, a fundie is a christian who tends to interpret the bible literally and rejects things like evolution or gay rights that they feel are incompatible with their narrow reading of the bible. They could be in any denomination although they are most prevalent among so called born again, or evangelical Christians.

So the protection stress healthcare professional stated that he must have his tonsils bumped off. again then in u.s. they hardly ever ever used familiar anesthesia (for instance my mom had her appendix bumped off lower than community anesthesia) and the healthcare professional did not even supply my dad any community anesthesia for the surgical procedure. The device which the healthcare professional used, from my dad's discription, change into this element with a metallic hoop on the right, and once you squeeze the deal with the ring squeezes. So the record stuck that element into my dad's mouth, wrapped it round between the tonsils and sqeezed. the first one got here off ok, although the record had a situation eliminating the second one one so he had to squeeze it over and yet over again even as my dad change into there in agonising discomfort bleeding. After the surgical procedure change into finally executed my dad couldn't even sleep mendacity down because he in simple terms couldn't swallow saliva because it damage a lot, no longer to coach he couldn't communicate for days. yet yeah, he's totally ok now, yet nevertheless recollects that journey very vividly :P Edit: did not write it to scare you, yet in simple terms to exhibit that it may be worse :)
