this question makes me laugh because people argue about it so much and which ever side your on you cant budge the other side to change there mind :D
i DO NOT believe in evolution, im not sure how we got here but evolution has NOT been proven and the skull charles darwin placed his theory on was infact a fake (look it up if you dont believe me) even if the skull was real i still wouldnt believe it because it has not been proven. so my first question is
1. do you believe in evolution? and
2. most people believe evolution proves theres no god, why? could evolution be the answer to how and not the answer to why?
3. do you think people who dont believe in evolution are stupid?
thanks for your answers

I think it is absolutely amazing the lengths people go to, trying to "prove" evolution. For some reason, it seems terribly important to these people that everyone accept evolution as an established fact...when it is not.
No, I do not "believe" in evolution. I believe that mankind has a heck of a long way to go, before we have the slightest clue where we came from or how we got here. I can accept that evolution, or some form of it, may be a possibility, but I am quite sure that nobody is sure at all, although they sure would like to convince us that they are very very sure. (I'm sure I'm not buying it!)
I have no idea why anybody would suppose that evolution offered proof that there is no God, but I suspect that this is what is behind the huge push to make everyone accept evolution as a fact.
I think that anyone who can state that they know for a FACT things that allegedly happened millions of years ago has to be completely moronic...or thoroughly brainwashed...

Darwin did not base his monemental work on a skull! Where did you get that notion? No, I don't "believe in" evolution any more than I "believe in" photosynthesis; but as a biologist I am fairly knowledgeable about both of these natural processes. Nothing in science can prove anything about God one way or the other, since science deals only with the natural universe in natural terms, and therefore anything supernatural lies outside the purview of science. The existence of atoms hasn't been "proven" either. That's why it is called atomic THEORY. Do you "believe in" atoms? However, atomic theory and evolutionary theory are among the best supported theories in all of science, and for all practical purposes can be considered facts. At least until a better theory that explains the observed facts can be proposed.

1. Yes.
2. Evolution doesn't disprove God. Technically, if you're being honest, you can never prove for 100% sure God isn't real (goes the other way too). But I know many people who think God made evolution - like he used it as a natural tool to make life.
3. No.
Oh, and evolution is based on a lot more than a skull. Sure, a handful of fossils have been hoaxes. The same thing goes for the creationist side (one man, I believe, fabricated the footprints of a man and a dinosaur side by side). But we have plenty of real fossils of human ancestors and so many ancient animal species that are now extinct. Look at archeopteryx, for example. Yikes, I think I massacred the spelling, but it's basically a lizard-like animal with teeth and feathery wings. We have many fossils of it.
There's mountains of evidence for evolution, in fossils, in DNA research, etc. Sure, it's not absolutely set in stone, but it's the best theory we have at the moment that is scientific ("God did it" is not scientific).

Are you for real?
If you are genuine, then have come to the understanding that the Evolutionary Theory is Obsolete. After 150 years of human research and Billions of dollars in scientific effort the results are pathetic. No proof. Only a lot of theory, and a whole lot of Snake Oil Salesmanship.
1. No.
2. The Evolutionary Model makes the Elements or Matter Eternal, therefore God. In the Bible God told Moses, tell them that "I Am" or that I am the Eternal.
3. No. They are not stupid, but they are brain-washed by strong propaganda. If you think that America does not use Propaganda in it's News, Education, and Entertainment Industries, then you need to live outside of the USA for a few years. From foreign soil it is so blatantly obvious. From inside the US, you get suspicious but cannot put your finger on it.
Thank you for your open minded approach to this topic.
By the way, if there was genuine proof, then Evolution would have been upgraded to a Law by now. Like the Law of Gravity.

1. I believe in evolution
2. I don't think it proves there is no god, but it proves god did not create humans
3. I think they just don't know enough about the evolution theory. You only have to look at the whole facts rather than just "humans are monkeys" to realise evolution is a fact. So I think they're ingnorant, not necessarily stupid.
Evolution is the only theory among credible biologists, but the details differ slightly.
It's very simple, the ones with characteristics and traits that suit the climate survive, ones without it don't. For example, for a bear to live in the Arctic, whiter fur, more fat and a bigger body means they'll survive. Over generations and thousands of breeding, the bears actually turned white, got bigger and fatter, and even changed their diet to suit the climate.

I will ignore the first part of your statement as it is not a question and does not deserve comments.
1. Yes
2. Because you're mixing up Evolution and Science in general. People who follow the principles of Science (not Evolution) believe the Socrates saying that "He who pretends something exists, must first bring proof of its existence". Since nobody was ever able to put God, Satan or a Miracle in a jar, it is understandable that they reserve their judgment... until Judgment Day, if you follow me?
Yes, it could be the answer to "How" and not "Why", but only because Stan Marsh (from South Park) said it and I also watched the episode recently.
3. No. People believing Evolution is a belief are stupid, because they didn't get a single word of it. To learn why I rephrased it like this, please visit this site:
www.discovery.com/
... and watch has much as you can. I also recomment high-school biology and science classes for a better comprehension.
Thank you for your time.

Out of curiosity, what is your Major in University and which studies of Evolution are we talking about?
Are you an archeologist with a minor in genetics?
-Or-
A theologian with a minor in Pre-history?
******************
Psychology, heh? I knew it couldn't be far from Theology. Listen, honey, leave scientific issues to the scientists.
It's also wrong to lie about this being a paper. You should pray for forgiveness. Lying is a sin.

I believe the world is still evolving as species come and go. Evolution is a fact. The Big Bang is only a theory. YES, I believe evolution is active in our world today.
Evolution comes closer to proving there IS a God instead of proving other way.
I think people that do not believe in evolution do not understand the word. New breeds of animals come into existence while others become extinct. That is evolution. The Big Bang is NOT evolution.

First of all, could you give me credible evidence that Darwin's theory was a fake?
1. Yes
2. Evolution does not disprove a deity. If you are A) actually stupid enough to believe the MYTHology of your religion and B) think that disproving these MYTHS invalidates the religion, then you have some problems you need to deal with first.
3. Stupid? No. Narrow or irrational? Probably.

Evolution is real. Evolution does not disprove God's existance. In fact it should prove that God does exist. People who don't believe in evolution, read Genesis and take it quite literally, which is really disrespectful to God. God is the infinite, beginning and end. Do you think that time as humans understand it is relative to God? Because the book said it took 6 days 10,000 years ago, does that limit the power and existance of God to the last 10,000 years? No. The book of Genesis was written by Moses, a man. It is written with the limited understanding of humans. God created animals before he created humans. This could be interpreted as the descendants of humans could be considered animals, and the collective conscious (soul) of human beings is really what was created on the "6th day", in God's image.

You yourself admit that you don't know how you arrived at your position, yet acknowledge that people won't budge on the subject. Well of course they won't budge if they hold uninformed positions!
Darwin's theory was not based on a skull. It was based on direct observations around the world.
1. No, I don't 'believe in' evolution the same way you 'disbelieve in' it. I believe it's the best explanation based on the mountains of evidence.
2. Evolution has nothing to do with gods. Some god concepts are in conflict with it though.
3. I don't think people who disbelieve it are stupid, but I do think it's pretty stupid to oppose it on theological grounds, or without even knowing why.
