All the petiness thats comming from "other" sources.... I know it sounds like I am over reacting....but, when I first came across the Senior section it was when I was just about to stop comming on Y/A altogether because I was sick of encountering a lot of stupid and sick individuals, I got to realise I just did not want to be subjected to that sort of thing, I firmly believe being involved in so much negativity is so bad for anyone, so I was'nt going to put up with it no longer....and like I said, I found the Seniors, I was so pleased, because there was so many lovely people on this..... but now all the patheticness of other users comming over and aiming their childish spite has spoilt it....our life can be stressful enough with all the things we have to deal with in our Day to Day life without adding to it by comming on here to put up with more....I am a very sensitive person, can't help it, it's the way I am, I hate being misunderstood, and that happens on here with just .........

I used to use discussion boards a lot. It could be a great way of communicating, but the arguments were no longer "debates' and I was alarmed that there is so much nastiness and hate around. Have only recently started in answers. Some comments I have seen that have been made to people I just cannot believe. Made me want to delete them, but not my choice. At least we can give a thumbs down. But I don't even do that. Then they'll know someone even bothered to read it. Best thing is to totally ignore them

I'm not totally apposed to the way seniors are misusing this site as a coffee clatch, although I don't really agree with it. However much of the way the rest of this sight is misused, is outrageous and yahoo seems to get their kicks from the reckless and obnoxious behavior of the worst offenders. why else is it them who continue on and the innocent who pay the price without yahoo caring? When I first came on yahoo Q/A, I thought it was a site meant to help people. I have been very disappointed in it's lack of value. Apparently to many, it serves an important purpose. It keeps their minds occupied, no matter how petty their thinking. I'm everything but out of here myself. I see very little evidence of anyone really wanting to learn anything. BEAM ME UP SCOTTY, THERE"S NO INTELLIGENT LIFE ON THIS SITE!

We all have to do our part and not give in to this.I was very tempted to leave also but found myself missing the humour and camaraderie. We need to stay connected and despite what some people who are sticklers for rules say just ignore the negativity. There are a lot of good people that aren't seniors yet but appreciate and respect our views. To the others, I say go play somewhere else .

It's worth it to make like a duck and let the drivel roll off your back.
The good still far outweighs the bad. Keep your opportunity to join in sharing with seniors. The word Seniors is just an umbrella a lot of wonderfolks hang out under.

I, myself have said many of the things you have here. I'm also often tenderhearted and hurt for others as well as myself, when people are cruel. Sometimes I fuss and sometimes I cry, but I get over it and come back because of the good people on here. I've grown very fond of many of them and they've been very kind to me. Sometimes I even have something worthwhile to say to someone else, that may make a difference in their day. Hang in there and don't let a few bad eggs run you off. By and large there are still some lovely folks here on our Senior site.

If you are a Senior you should stay. If you are young you should perhaps try another section for a while. You sound very hurt and angry. I don't think the people on this site, after reading the questions and answers are malicious.

Don't give them the satisfaction of making you leave. I have just discovered this section and it has good contributors.Don't think about the few who like to spoil things. Think about those who enjoy the interaction with decent peoople, and enjoy being part of a valuable team.

We know exactly where you're coming from but it'll be a sad section without you because you have that certain knack of asking just the right question at just the right time. We're not happy with the way Seniors has developed over recent weeks and we agree it can get a person down. We had a response from someone who is usually a regular on here and it upset us but we were told by this person that they were only joking. It was actually a threat disguised in so-called humour. We didn't report the person. But we could have. The answer we gave to their question was not a bad response at all they just decided to take it as such. oh well, that's life we suppose. Maybe we'll follow your lead on this one as there's enough doom n gloom in the real world without getting it on here.

I would have thought, that by the time you get to call yourself a senior, you would also have learnt that it's not all 'sweetness and light' out there. I'm a senior and I answer questions from various categories. Sometimes getting things 'off your chest' via Yahoo Answers can be quite therapeutic.

I dont let it get me down. Change will happen and I have developed a thick skin from bartending and working with the public everyday. Just skim right over those comments you do not like and read the ones you do. The only way to get through all this crap.
