we constantly hear about the third world countries. I am mystified as to what the 2nd world must be.

It seems somewhat simpler as an english-speaker to understand, or at least guess, what words mean and what they sound like in other latin-based languages. Would it be impossible for everyone to transliterate their languages into the latin alphabet, or would it make more sense for everyone to just continue how they are writing already? Surely, a majority of the people in the world write in a latin based script of some sort, right? If not, which alphabet is more prominent and would it be feasible to switch to that?

I believe in God. I trust Jesus.

I do NOT believe in or trust the Bible or the Church.
The Bible, which says we should kill our babies, that women should be stoned to death for looking lustfully on another... and the worst... women shall submit to their husbands.

It's a good thing not all women did that.... the women that are CEO's of healthcare companies, the women who founded "Feed the Children" programs... they went out and made something of themselves and saved so so many people.

You can't tell me God is unhappy with that.

And so I'm sick and tired of the Church and Bible telling me that I have to be a housewife and obey my husband... when God is telling me that I'm destined for much, much more.

ps. I know that Mormons and JW's call themselves Christians, but there is some controversy there, you know....

How can so many differing views of God all have adherents that say that they KNOW GOD - and they KNOW THEY HAVE THE TRUTH???

ps. Jesus has an empty tomb? But where? No one really KNOW any of that stuff - just stories, you know....

I have prayed, listened, read the Koran and the Bible, but I cannot say that I really have any reason to embrace it all.

It just all seems so far-fetched! Why do so many people believe their religions so much?

I have met so many that are no longer Mormons and they say that it is a very deceptive organization which, if you leave, you are shunned by the Mormon community.

They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

A NUN & A CABBIE

A cabbie picks up a Nun.

She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome cab driver won't stop staring at her.

She asks him why he is staring.

He replies:
"I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you."

She answers, "My son, you cannot offend me.

When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything.

I'm sure that there's nothing you could
say or ask that I would find offensive."

"Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me."

She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2, you must be Catholic."

The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I'm single and Catholic!"

"OK" the nun says. "Pull in to the next alley."

The nun fulfills his fantasy, with a kiss that would make a hooker blush.

But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.

"My dear child," says the nun, "why are you crying?"

"Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess, I'm married and I'm Jewish."

The nun says, "That's OK.
My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween party."

Okay, a question regarding evolution.

In order for something to 'adapt' or 'evolve' from one form into another, the process of natural selection is involved, correct? Natural selection is explained as:

"An organism may possess some inheritable trait or character which, in a given environment, gives that organism a greater chance of passing on all of its genes to the next generation (compared with those of its fellows which don't have it). Over succeeding generations that trait or character has a good chance of becoming more widespread in that population."

Okay. This being the case then change occurs when a species adapts a characteristic that it already has or loses a characteristic in order to better suit it's environment.

A species cannot develop NEW characteristics which it was not genetically coded for to begin with. In other words, "what natural selection actually does is get rid of information".

So how do we go from simple to complex?
