I have prayed, listened, read the Koran and the Bible, but I cannot say that I really have any reason to embrace it all.

It just all seems so far-fetched! Why do so many people believe their religions so much?

Prayer and studying the Holy Books are both good ways to learn about God. But the only way to really KNOW God is to love -- yourself, people and Him, however you perceive Him a this stage in your life.

Because some have had a truly divine experience or just something inside them (that still small voice the Bible speaks of) lets them know it's real. God has done so much in my life there's no way anyone will ever convince me that my God isn't real because I KNOW that He is. Try praying and asking God to reveal Himself to you in a way that you'll know it's Him. He will gladly do that and then you will know.

The "lower self" is your conscious mind, your emotions and mental thinking ego. It is like a ball of yarn all tangled up in the past and the future to stop and pay attention to the NOW. Being in the Now Quiets the mind bringing you to a point of Listening and taking you closer to your Higher Self.Your Higher Self lies between your lower self and The Universal CONSCIOUSNESS / ALL THAT IS, or GOD.
God did not say "I WAS" for He is not a God of the past.
God did not say "I will be" for he is not a God of the future.
God said "I AM" so He is saying I am the God of the NOW.

To make it less "far-fetched", bring it near by DOING!

Psalm 111:10 -- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who DO His commandments. His praise endures forever.

Exodus 31:13 -- Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; THAT YE MAY KNOW that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Knowledge and understanding come from DOING what God instructs.

Join a bible study - first to study the bible there with others, but secondly also to hear first hand from believers how they live out their faith in easy and difficult situations.
(Or an Alpha Course or a kind of newcomers club at a church.)

It is not about religiion, it is about having a realationship with Jesus Christ. That comes by reading the bible and praying and talking to God and asking him to reveal the truth to you. I just pray that someone comes along in your life and gives you the revelation that you are looking for.

God is part of us, by knowing yourself, understanding yourself, listening yourself. you will find they call "Jesus" then by continuing the search you'll mature and eventually find "God".
you can't understand people or their books of experience if you don't know how to understand yourself or how you behave.
God and Jesus isn't beyond us, they are part of us, thye aren'ts humans they are forces of living. We are alive, so we are part of them.
Bible and Quran are just guide not answers.
