Neither. both are restrictions and hinder the growth of human progress. The more religious, the more lawless you are.

My religion says to put God before anything, but it also states that we must respect the rules, regulations, and the Law.

Some of the Christian Values are inserted into the Decleration of Independence, so, sometimes, when I am obeying the Law, I am also obeying the Christian Values.

Neither one is better for humanity. If everyone obeyed the Law, then there wouldn't be so much disaster, and the same goes if everyone loved each other as one another. It depends upon the individual.

I am a law abiding citizen.

Why is there one bible, one God and 1000 religions, I an not of a religion, I am a bible student and Moses in Exodus of Egypt world Empire #1, was from year 2513 to year 2553 giving the law to the 603,550 heirs of the Promised Land, the first law receivers, law keepers or law abiding people and the first law enforcers on planet earth. Matt.6:9-13; 22:37-40; Rom.13:8-10; Gal.5:19-23; Jesus gave us love, with this we break no laws of God or
man.
By the time the Promised Land is 1804 years after the flood, 907 years after Moses, it is desolate, no 420 year old temple, 391 years after Solomon to no king, all is captive to Babylon world Empire #3, in the year 3460, 606 before Christ is in Rome world Empire #6, [ Past Isaiah and Assyria world Empire #2, 827 to 714 BC, Cyrus in world Empire #4, 536 BC and Greece world Empire #5 336 BC ].

Law controls our life much better than Religion for the uplift of the humanity, more so because different religions have spread more hatred as a result of vital contradictions.

Religion to some extent and Law most of the time

I control my life by my own choices. I reject religion because it's an attempt to control by playing with ones mind and once inside of it you have no choices. Law is also a control of sorts but one still has the choice within it to accept or reject it.

1. Neither
2. 'Better' is a subjective value judgment, but laws (many of which stem from religion) are a more egalitarian, pragmatic, functional and fair means of providing justice for a culture or a society.

"Religion is knowing the difference between right and wrong"

In Islam law is religion, law is part of religion (shariah) and Islam is the best way of life as all are equal under it and before God.

They work hand in hand. The Bible says to follow the laws of the land. If your not law abiding, then you'll not follow God's law to love and keep His commandmants either.
