Here are two links about Horus. Which one do you think presents accurate unbiased information and why do you think that?

Both of them. Look at the bottom of the page on the religioustolerance.org site. They put a nice little disclaimer down there. People just miss it when they cite religioustolerance as a source in comparing Horus and Jesus.

Maybe that's why they put it at the bottom.

Personally, I believe what Egyptologists have said over ANY site, and they have said there's no or very little similarity.

Why can't other people (not you) do the same? Instead they want to believe Zeitgeist. Sigh. I guess there's no limit to human stupidity.

The REAL Jesus
There is "another Jesus" that is not the REAL Jesus of
the Bible (2 Cor. 11:4). Salvation can only take place
only through faith in the REAL Jesus. Faith in
"another Jesus" cannot save anyone. So how can you
tell if you have the REAL Jesus?
The Jesus of the Bible...
-- is prayed to - Acts 7:55-60; Psalm 116:4
and Zech. 13:9 with 1 Cor. 1:1-2
-- is worshiped - Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; 28:9;
John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6
-- is called God - John 20:28; Heb. 1:8; Isa.
9:6
-- is the ONLY way to God - John 14:6; Acts
4:12
-- did not come to bring peace, but a
sword - Matt. 10:34
-- tells us to fear God - Matt. 10:28
-- tells us that the world will hate us - John
15:18-19, 17:14
-- tells us Christians can expect to suffer -
Matt. 5:45; John 16:33; Heb. 11:35-38; 1 Pet.
4:12; 1 John 3:13
-- commands us share the gospel - Matt.
28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8

The metaphors of the anointed one, the son of God are the same because both stories take place on earth;as above, so below. The earth, no matter how corrupted it has become, contains the symbols for us to use to return to God.The life of Jesus is the potential in all of us and so the life of Horus is that potential, too. Jesus teaches us to connect with the Holy Spirit to work toward our salvation. If Horus teaches the same, he would be, in effect, the same type of wayshower.

the promise of the virgin birth started in the garden of eden with Eve.......so this was available to all future cutures to do with as they wished....

the miracles of Jesus were documented by witnesses.....Horus was just a myth.....it does not matter if he predates Jesus.....he is just a myth....it was part of ancient hebrew prophesy (remember the Hebrews spent 400 years in Egypt too) that their messiah would bring peace and miracles. the messiah was someone anticipated by all cultures. some fabricated a myth, where only one person actually showed up to fulfill the prophecy.

some things like beheadings still happen today in that region of the world, and has nothing to do with Jesus or Horus.

Or this one..

I don't see any significant similarities between Horus and Jesus. Information can always be twisted and made to form any view. History is easily rewritten. The more sources the better. I would go to several sites before making any conclusions.

It does not surprise me in the least to see that the ancient Egyptians knew of the idea of Christ. It does not matter to me that the name is different, what does matter is the fact that they knew about the attributes, and the main one, about Him being ETERNAL. Even the OT has references to His manifestation(s) to them, on many occasions (and they did not call Him 'Jesus') but they certainly knew of him. Why not the rest of the known world, in any time as well?

That is the funny thing, there is no difference... so...
Why is it that most of the saviors of all religions are all the same? Most are born of a virgin, most are born on Dec. 25th, more were betrayed and persecuted, and most resurrected. Explain to me, why Jesus is different, especially when his story is the latter of most other faiths.

I love how a lot of people talk about Horus....but no one mentions how alike Jesus is to Moses....

Wasn't Moses the deliverer of the Jews?

Why don't you look at that for a second?

--------------

Edit: Oh yeah, and you don't know which one is true...that's why it's faith and not proven fact.
