Why do so many people believe in religions which are unfounded and clearly man-made? Especially when most of those religions contradict themselves endlessly, contain refutable innacuracies, and claim that people are inherently evil? My best guess is that these people have either been brainwashed by society, or feel inherently bad, and therefore need an "escape route" (as it were) of eternal salvation. I guess pascal's wager would count, too, but that doesn't seem to be the main reason for most people. Please base you answers on logic, also, an answer employing Psychology would be great. Furthermore, for religious persons answering the question, please don't use your faith as an answer, as it is an inherent fallacy.

an open mind to things? Are you someone who only believes in what they can physcially see and / or touch? Or do you keep your mind open to the mystical things that surround everything in our world?

What do you really want them to get you. Remember this question isn't to make you look good. Just be honest. What do you really want from them. Something that would make you smile, and know they appriciated you.

To me their is none btw. Only a historical one ... I bet the Vatican would still do to non-believers what it did to them in the Middle Ages if they tought they'd get away with it.

I am not ashamed to admit I receive food stamps.I have a spinal cord disease and lost my job and everything else due to a horrific disease process. Before then I was working full time with benefits. Yet, I am still classified as things like 'lowlife', 'druggie' 'bum', and those are the less-degrating terms that have been slung my way.

How many people in church actually realize there is no god? I'm wondering if there are a lot more atheists than are really counted.

I suspect this is an increasing trend, with the increases in education and scientific knowledge; but it will be a long time before we know the actual numbers. If I'm mistaken, please comment.

Okay here it is:
Pectus pectoris quod animus , EGO dico super thee

Planto nos unus intemporaliter

Redimio nos una ut nunquam pro

Duos animus fio unus

Duos pectus pectoris fio universus

I really want to know what it means, so the person that can translate it most accurately gets 10 points. And I know if you've translated it correctly or not because I can make sure it fits in the context of what I'm reading, so please don't make something up because it won't work.
Thanks

I have been thinking of how David waited patiently and lovingly for the kingdom, all the while knowing he was the rightful king.
We to as the children of God are waiting for a Kingdom, one that is not made with hands. Are we doing it as David did?Could you provide us with some examples of this, or scripture pertaining on how others waited as well?

Jesus' God, the one HE prayed too, seems to now play second fiddle to Christ? how is this monotheism? Why do you forget God? does this not show you how the church has usurped the God of your religion with their interpretation of Christ as saviour? Jesus taught that the Father was the only Saviour of souls come Judgement day, why do go against this word?

I want to make a lemon cake from a recipe I have, but the only problem is that it's in German. One of the ingredients says "200g Sahne". I know that this means 200g of cream, but what kind of cream? Heavy cream, whipped cream, sour cream... etc. ? If anyone could help me, that would be great :)
