A Muslim colleague - who I do not know at all - sent out a global email wishing everyone a Happy Eid. This colleague is supposed to be our "diversity advisor" but this didn't stop him imposing religious greetings on little old me - who doesn't believe in any religious claptrap, nor in ghosts, magic, or the tooth fairy.

I propose to POLITELY tell him to keep desist from sending me any religious salutations (of any kind).

Do you think this is reasonable? Should I desist? Am I likely to find a dead horse on my desk, or something?

I find myself coming up with a few questions and hypocrisies about Christianity that keep me from completely embracing the religion. For instance this pickle... the Christian religions say if you are homosexual, you are going to hell. Now I'm not gay, but I understand that that true gays are born gay which means God made them that way, so why are they being condemned to hell? Does that mean God doesn't want us to be ourselves? Whats the dilly? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts but especially by the practicing Christians out there

i will be dressed as a scarecrow on my porch, to scare kids when they come for candy. Any ideas to make my head (face, hair, hat etc) look like a mannequin and not a human? I have my body work figured out, but mom wants a bag over my head, so what works best?

Personally whenever too many people thumbs me up, I have to re-evaluate what I typed lol. I just answered one question that I got 7 count them 7 thumbs down for! I think its good to have a decent balance of ups and downs. Really it doesnt matter, but it does give you an indication as to the loyalties and beliefs on the board.

all right, so I'm gay, only my best mate and another 2 person know this and they are totally cool w/ it and still love me, I'm 22 and my mom begin to ask(non-stop) or rater like persuade me to have a girlfriend as soon as possible,one week ago, she said she want me to go back my country and meet some girl she think can be my wife?!?!?! sleep in seperate bedroom?

A few years ago I became a realtor - home after 10pm some nights - so not to distrube my husband - who left for work at 4am - I start sleeping in the quest bedroom. After a while, we both got comfortable with this, thus, it continues to date.

A friend found out a few months back, and she been getting on my last nerve with her "why you two not sleeping together?" questions, in most of our conversation. Last night I got fed up and told her off, perhaps not too nicely.

Should I apology? I may have lost a friend, but I just don't understand her obsession with this.

a thieving, raping, lusting, murderer if he repents and becomes what you call "born again" but this same god will not forgive an atheist?

It seems that the murderer has hurt more people with his crimes against man, and hurt god by sinning than the atheist who is only hurting god by failing to acknowledge god's existence.

The atheist could be a find upstanding person who never does anything wrong on earth, helps those who need help, and gives of himself to others, yet, if your world view is true, this good person will be sent to hell to be tortured forever only because the world he perceived did not include a god.

Doesn't this just seem entirely backwards to you?

Just to show you could be as devout as the Muslims are? They are giving up bacon and polish sausages for God, while Christians eat those things everyday. Do you think it's possible the Muslims are showing greater spiritual discipline. They never eat a single hot ham and cheese. How many Christians can say that?

When I first moved in to the neighborhood my neighbor was SO nice.She knew we homeschooled, and honestly,it was a non-issue.She and I would have our kids play together,she'd come over a lot,you get the idea.About a month ago, I took my oldest daughter(5) out to eat at a fast-food place and neighbor lady was there, along with 3-4 other neighborhood mothers.They waved me over, so we sat with them and my daughter played.Neighbor brought up HS to the other moms, and started yapping about how it's just "her opinion, but kids learn SO much more in Pub. school, because I can't give them what a teacher can-Other moms joined in with how bad homeschool was,and why would I do that?At this point I felt very attacked, informed the mothers that our reasons were numerous, but there was also a TON of evidence to suggest that Homeschool has some amazing benefits over PS& they could research that. I then left
Now, neighbor-lady won't wave hi or come over any more. I was hoping to develop a friendship...
