Thyroid condtion, cancer, I have a female friend who started losing her hair at age 14. Her doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong, it turned out she had early onset multiple sclerosis. Why it caused her hair loss, I don't know.

Yes, but it usually involves cancer. There is some disease (I don't remember its name) that stops the body from producing hair all over, including the head. I don't think it's a cancerous disease.
