Taking the biggest heartache of my life and turning it into a blessing with me receiving the desires of my heart. Mothers Day 2005. I located my 36 year old son who I had not seen since birth. He accepted me. Had searched for me as I searched for him. He now has 2 Moms. He had a cookout with his entire family for me. Everyone was wonderful!
My surrogate mother/friend passed that morning. In my sadness I got online and using zabasearch.com began looking for him again. Found him in another state and with his birth name. All miracles. His wife answered the phone when I called. I asked if her husband might be adopted. She said is this ______my first and maiden names. Within 2 weeks I was visiting him for 2 weeks. He has met and vacationed with his siblings. He and his brother both ride Harleys. His birth brother and one adopted family brother are in law enforcement. He knows they have always known about him. He calls weekly comes for a two week visit every year. He looks more like me than any of the other children. Another strange thing is his wife and I share the same first and middle name. Isn't life wonderful!

Every day is best! Events? Waking up to see my sweet pets. Getting a call from my daughter. Having my son-in-law home safe from Iraq and bringing my six grandchildren to see me. Feeling well enough to fix something to eat and taking some to a sick friend down the hall. Seeing my friend come through my door every day. Watching a Dog the Bounty Hunter marathon. Seeing the Tennessee Titans win another game. Every day is the best day and I thank God for supplying my every need!

Well I didn't tell the worst day of my life.
In a 1985 Honda Civic I took my stroke strickin, bi-polar father (and his wheelchair) to the podiatrist. My son age 10 and our foster child age 7 were bitter enemies and they went with us. Dad soon became nervous as they argued (sitting on top of the wheelchair) and a hypoglycemic episode ensued .It started to pour down rain as I ran into the drugstore for glucose tablets followed by two little boys who were afraid to stay in the car with Dad. After continuing our trip Dad, paralzyed on one side, had to go to the bathroom.I transferred him to a standing position and as he took care of this we were both soaked with cold rain. All this before we arrived at the doctor's office.
This story continues but you get the jest of it.
It didn't occur to me this wasn't a profitable adventure until it was over. What was I thinking?

My best days are many. The day the little foster child returned home (3 years later) and he turned out great!
The day my father was baptized at age 75.
The day the air traffic control job was restored after a16 yr termination. When my grandmother's ring was returned to me after being lost for three months and.............................
when I won the Miss America Contest!
just kidding
I'm sure there are many more but those were the zenith!
Blessings always, Juju

Southerncomfort, what a lovely story!

A few years ago, I went to the Doctor one day and I didn't get back home for 4 months !!! I was in the Hospital 4 weeks and went from there to a Health and Rehabilitation Center for 3 months. The day I left the Center and came home was the best day of my life !!!! After my children were born of course !!!!!!! *smile*

Great question, Wickwire, because it gave Southern Comfort the opportunity to share her wonderful story. Wow!

My best day? Had to be the one when I was being rolled out of surgery and the doctor leaned down and said those magical words that I so needed to hear...."The tumor was benign".

Just four little words, but they were a true gift.

Two stand out in the last 7 years. The day I was finally divorced from my abusive husband, and the day I realized I now had a man who truly loves me just the way I am, damage & all. (Actually I can't really call that one a particular day, more of a process over 4 years)

The family had gathered at a very nice restaurant in Manhatten Beach California. They let us use the entire patio area which meant we were out in the sun and shade of the palm trees. It was my middle daughter's birthday and they brought out a big cake for her. I looked around the table and realized that there were all of my children and their children seated together. The sun was shining and I remember thinking to myself that it just doesnt get any better.

No, I've had some absolutely fabulous days though and some 'not-so-good' days, but until they're all done, and they're not, I cannot choose the BEST. I have great faith that I am going to top them all sometime in the future...so I will opt to hold off!

The best day of my life was watching my grandaughter being born. I worked on ob-gyn for four years and my daughter was adopted so this was very new to me from a personal standpoint. A new life is truely a miracle.
