Not that I'm personally offended by it, but sometimes it almost seems like a euphemism for "**** YOU."

and they had already passed on, does this mean it is ok for us to ask our Creator if He is willing if He might send a message to our loved ones, or can they or angels possibly communicate something to us? Are they permitted to hear and see us? How can we tell?

Every thought of God is prayer. Holy, true and honest purposes are prayer. Earnest thought, search without vanity is prayer.

... why should I believe anything the Bible says?

I can understand one star, it simply means the asker thinks it is the best answer, but doesn't agree with it.

I can understand four and five stars, but two and three? That is kind of an insult to the answerer. To me it says, "Hey, your answer is the best answer here, but none of them are good". Come to think of it, it insults every answerer of the question.

I would send a question to voting before I would give the answerer three stars, because that would mean none of the answers really satisfied me.

Could someone please explain this to me?

I am not prejudice to any person for their beliefs. I understand that Christianity is a very strict religion. Most Christians I have known turned out to be hypocrites--they claim to be Christian, yet they do not follow the rules of the bible. Just a few examples I can give off the top of my head: A Christian I knew at one time who turned out to own pornography, a Christian I knew who turned out to be an alcoholic, many I have known who turned out to be adulterers, and the list goes on and on. In fact, there is not one Christian I have personally known who is not a hypocrite. Just to clarify, I am talking not about their past lives but their hypocritical lifestyles while claiming the religion.

It's not the idea of the religion itself, but most of the people associated with Christianity that make it very unappealing to me. I understand a lot of people need to cling to something. but this tends to be a focus point for hypocrites

My wife and I have been invited to a Black-tie optional formal dinner party. I’ve been asked to give a 2 min speech, and my Doctor will be awarded a Global Leadership Award. We’ve never been to a formal event before, and we don’t know proper etiquette. Worst, there’s gonna be lots of doctors, some media people, and high ranking others there. I know nothing about medicine! What type of conversation can I have with a doctor? What type of conversations should we try to indulge in, and how long should they last? What should I wear, (we don’t have much), and how should we act? They paid for a car rental, hotel stay, and food. Please help me out. We don’t want to stand out too much! Thanks

Most christians say that the coming of Jesus heralded a new covenant between man and god and hence the old laws don't apply anymore.According to the New Testament Matthew 5:17 says "Do not suppose that I have come to abolish the Law and the prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to complete. I tell you this: so long as heaven and earth endure, not a letter, not a stroke, will disappear from the Law until all that must happen has Happened." So since Jesus has not returned the "Law" is still in effect, so why aren't we still burning witches, stoning adulterers and disobedient children, killing homosexuals, ostracizing people that work on the Sabbath (nurses, doctors etc.), flinging blood onto the horns of the alter, pulling off the heads of small birds, and don't forget human sacrifice to God (Leviticus 27 P.28 )?

IF I get a woman pregnant, and I want that child, she can look at me, laugh and say I made an appointment to take care of this situation. But if I don't want this child, she can file for child support. Women, you say its your body, well, It's my money! (For the record, I am STRONGLY against abortion and dead beat fathers, but if a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body, then I have the right not to pay for an unwanted child.)

I'm no great looker but I can look very nieve and like I'm about 19 (I'm 24). I'm just wondering why a man would continue to come onto you - WHILE YOUR HUSBAND IS THERE!!!!!!
I made it quite obvious I was married and yet he was all "Are you wearing contacts?" NO?!!!!! But you have such pearcing blue eyes" Even if I was was single EWWWWWW.
Anyway later he waited till my husband was talking to someone else - because we didn't actually leave each others side all night, thought that would have been obvious enough - to ask if I was out and about the next day . I turned to my husband and asked him and suddenly this guy wasn't interested anymore.
Even after that he insisted on kissing my hand about three times which by the end was turning into a slobbery snog.
Anyway this is the least intrusive a man has been recently - usually they feel like they can be all up in my face or grab a squeeze of something (At which point they get a bit shocked because I don't slap I man-punch)
WHY????????
