Islam is a monotheistic religion that worships the deity Allah described in the Quran, the holy scripture of Islam.
Islam's soteriology is fundamentally based on good works, charity, and the obeying of God's law. There are, specifically, five "pillars" of Islam that are to be followed:
1. Recite the shahada (an Islamic creed, "There is no God but God and Mohammed is his messenger.")
2. Say the five daily prayers
3. Give to charity
4. Fast, particularly during the month of Ramadan.
5. If it is within your means, do the pilgrimmage to Mecca.

Islam an Abrahamic Religion (like Jewish and Christian Faith).
Muslims (followers of Islam) worship Allah (God, Jehovah, Elohim, Eli - same thing) and believe that he is the only god worthy of worship.
Muslims also believe that Muhammad is his final messenger, to whom the complete and perfected form of the religion was revealed to.
Their belief system is mentioned in detail in the book known as the Holy Quran.

Islam means to surrender to God. It is the same religion as preached by Adam, Abraham, Moses and Jesus.
The basic believes of Islam are:
1. There is no god but one God (in arabic Allah) who has created each and everything in this universe. He is the Creator, Owner and the Nurturer of all creatures.
2. There will be a day of judgment when every right and wrong deeds will be rewarded/ penalized respectively.
3. The last messenger of God is Muhammad
It is essential for the followers of Islam to believe that all the previous messengers were righteous like Jesus, Moses and Abraham.
The most basic aim of Islam is to establish JUSTICE on the earth. It has to be practiced to the extent that in case of a dispute between a muslim (follower of Islam) and a non-muslim justice must be provided without any favor to the muslim. Muslims established golden examples of justice even in favor of their war enemies.
Islam gave equal rights to man and woman 1400 years ago.
Islam gave great resepect to women as mothers, sisters, wives or daughters. A muslim man is bound to satisfy himself only with his wife. He can NOT abuse or exploit any woman. A muslim wife is actually the queen of the home. Children are required to serve thier mothers in first place and then fathers till their death. Husbands are required to love and take care of their wives to the maximum possible extent.
Islam adapted numerous methods to eradicate slavery from the society. It demanded muslims to excercise respect, love and sympathy with their slaves. Finally it became more and more difficult to make free persons slave.
Islam established a so socially peaceful society which even at the end of its life in indian sub-continent was depicted by a british envy Lord McCauley in 1835 like "It is very strange country; I have found no bagger or theif here".
I would request you in your own benefit to take time to study Islam in depth. It is not the religion of Arabs. In the holybook Quran Allah addresses all the human beings. Basically Allah loves human beings and wants that all of them should strive for and make themselves deserving to enter the paradise.

Islam (Arabic: اÙإسÙاÙ
; al-'islÄm (help·info)) is a monotheistic religion originating with the teachings of Muhammad, a 7th-century Arab religious and political figure. The word Islam means "submission", or the total surrender of oneself to God (Arabic: اÙÙÙ, AllÄh). An adherent of Islam is known as a Muslim, meaning "one who submits (to God)".[1][2] There are between 1 billion to 1.3 billion Muslims on the basis of self-identification, making Islam the second-largest religion in the world, after Christianity.[3]
Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad, God's final prophet, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah (words and deeds of Muhammad) as the fundamental sources of Islam.[4] They do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Islamic tradition holds that Judaism and Christianity distorted the messages of these prophets over time either in interpretation, in text, or both.[5]
Islam includes many religious practices. Adherents are generally required to observe the Five Pillars of Islam, which are five duties that unite Muslims into a community.[6] In addition to the Five Pillars, Islamic law (sharia) has developed a tradition of rulings that touch on virtually all aspects of life and society. This tradition encompasses everything from practical matters like dietary laws and banking to warfare.[7]
Almost all Muslims belong to one of two major denominations, the Sunni and Shi'a. The schism developed in the late 7th century following disagreements over the religious and political leadership of the Muslim community. Roughly 85 percent of Muslims are Sunni and 15 percent are Shi'a. Islam is the predominant religion throughout the Middle East, as well as in parts of Africa and Asia. Large communities are also found in China, Western Europe, the Balkan Peninsula, and Russia. About 20 percent of Muslims live in Arab countries.[8]

Islam is a complete way of life. It tells man about the purpose of his creation and existence, his ultimate destiny, his place among other creatures and more importantly, it provides him with guidance to lead a balanced and purposeful life which will enable him to avoid the Hell-fire and be rewarded with a place in Paradise in the life after death. Simply Islaam is to "Obey Allah" (Allah is the Name of the Only One True God). Islaam is a verb in Arabic (a doing word). The one who does Islaam is called a Muslim. (Allah calls us "Muslims" in His Speech of Qur'ân).
The Arabic word Islaam means voluntary surrender to the will of Allaah and obedience to His commands. Allaah is an Arabic word, the proper name of God. Muslims prefer to use Allaah rather than God.
Who is Allah?
Many non-Muslims have come to incorrectly believe that Allah is the ‘God of Muslims’ – A deity somehow different from the God of the other faiths. It should be emphasized that the term “Allah” has no implied meaning at all of an Arabian god, a Moon god or even a Muslim god. Muslims are not claiming any exclusiveness when they say "Allah". However Allah is simply the Arabic Name of the one Almighty God; the same name by which Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians, refer to God. The Allah comes from the term ‘al-ilaah’. Al is the definite article in Arabic, equivalent to ‘the’ in English, while ilaah means ‘a deity or god’. So Allah means The God. This is beautifully articulated in the first pillar of Islam which is to believe that God is One, in Arabic it would be, "La ilaha illallah" meaning "There is no god but God"
The Muslims prefer calling the Supreme Creator, Allah, instead of by the English word ‘God’. The Arabic word, ‘Allah’, is pure and unique, unlike the English word ‘God’, which can be played around with.
If you add ‘s’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Gods’, that is the plural of God. Allah is one and singular, there is no plural of Allah. If you add ‘dess’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Goddess’ that is a female God. There is nothing like male Allah or female Allah. Allah has no gender. If you add the word ‘father’ to ‘God’ it becomes ‘God-father’. God-father means someone who is a guardian. There is no word like ‘Allah-Abba’ or ‘Allah-father’. If you add the word ‘mother’ to ‘God’, it becomes ‘God-mother’. There is nothing like ‘Allah-Ammi’, or ‘Allah-mother’ in Islam. Allah is a unique word. If you prefix tin before the word God, it becomes tin-God i.e., fake God. Allah is a unique word, which does not conjure up any mental picture nor can it be played around with. Therefore the Muslims prefer using the Arabic word ‘Allah’ for the Almighty.

Islam means submission to the will of God. Which also mean that Muslim is one who submits to God and lives his entire life according to the teachings of God and His Messenger. Muslim's God is same God who was God of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad,
There is no other God but one and only God who created all heavens and earth and every thing beween these. We belive this one and ony God and Mohammad is the Messneger of God. We worship only to God and not to Mohammad. A Muslim believes on all Prophets that God sent to guide mankind. We do not reject any God because they all worshipped the same God and taught the message of God. It is the follower who kept changing the Gods revelaions and messing up their religion.
We also believe on the Day of Judgment at the end of this world. All humans will be resurrected from graves and presented to God where we all will have to face God for our sins. He may forgive our sins if we did some very good things for parents, children, other humans and for God.
Depending on if we did lots of good deeds compared to our sins or we did lots of sins compared to our few good deeds we will be judged and either punished in hell or rewarded heaven right away or after some punishment of our sins we will be forgiven and sent to heaven or wil be kept in hell for long long time because of murders we committed and hurt humanity very badly.
It is only fair and just that we are rewarded or punsihed based on our actions in this life. Any religion that says their God will forgive evey one no matter how bad they were or that mere blieving on Jesus guarantees heaven for them is totally wrong. Will it not be unfair to those who were extremely decent, honest, never hirt any one, worshipped God regularly and lived a pious life but all criminals will also be awarded heaven and will be living in heaven with these pious people. That means they will again suffer in heaven with these bad people. No God is Just and not unjust. It is not right. Such belief is not taught by God. It is man made belief to attract all kinds of people to convert to christianity.
They think more people they convert, higher level of Paradise they will get. This belief is wrong. No one is supposed to lie and change the religion. Those who do will be punished in hell fire and no heaven is for changing the Gods scriptures and making people fool.
Muslims never say you can drink liquor and eat pork also. Just become Muslim. God will forget every thing. No Muslims never lie about religion and never misguide people.
