A shortage of self-respect doesn't exactly seem like our biggest problem.

What would be better would be if everyone acted more respectably. This forum is full of people who respect themselves greatly for no apparent reason.

People who do not respect and love themselves bear any nonsense from others. This brings in a situation where tyrants are born where dictators are born. If learn to respect ourselves and are ready to die there will be real and meaningful democracies on the earth and may be somebody is poor but he will not be abhorred by anybody.

1) "Those who are fallen can not help those who are down"

2) People are motivated be the desire to prove themselves which isn't a great use of one's time, as motives changed so would actions.

3) To make a change in your family, community, city , state, country or world the place to start is always yourself.
