In regards to her comments on the Donnie Deutsch show that Christians are perfected Jews!!?? Please!!!!! She already makes my blood boil but those comments are unforgivable in my eyes. Granted I am not a practicing Jew now but I grew up in Judaism so obviously it would strike a chord in me. Plus Jews don't go around beating people down with the bible and forcing Judaism on them... as with some other religions we may be familiar with. Doesn't she know that a portion of her "fans" are jews... but for every christian that liked her I bet they will be renouncing her now...Talk about anti christ... if there was such a thing it would definitely be her...

Why do you try to convert people to your faith?
I only speak for myself when i say i am already fully aware of your religion and have displayed no interest on my own....i wouldn't approach you an try to replace your Christian beliefs with my own atheist ones...

My sister, who is a scientist, and is a VERY logical person, *swears* that the following story is the reason she believes in God. One night on a mountain road in the Bay Area, she was driving her volvo around a blind mountain bend, when a man in a pink corvette tried to pass in her lane around a woman in a minivan. My sister, being smart, decided she wouldn't go off the road (ravine= certain death), and she wouldn't hit the woman in the minivan. (Killing kid and woman=bad). She decided to close her eyes and pray. When the man's car was about 12 feet in front of her, she looked him straight in the eyes, then closed her own and slammed on the breaks. Her life (allegedly) flashed before her eyes....just before her car came screeching to a halt a few seconds later. She opened her eyes and the man was gone. The woman in the van had kept her eyes open, and was freakin- she said the man had just vanished. Have you an interesting, true story of the unexplained to share? =) Do tell!

It is a belief system of some, if marginal, importance in the religious life of the United States. It has at least one published Bible a copy of which I own (if I can find it) and have read bits of.

This is to protest the deletion of a question involving Satanism to which I provided some thoughts. Again, it is not the points, but I put time and serious thought (albeit sometimes silly thoughts too) into participating in R&S.

If the questioner pulled the question of his/her own free will, I have no quarrel with that. But otherwise pulling the question damaged the openness of this forum. Forcible deletion of questions, except in rare cases of clear threat, I find offensive!!

Here is the verse in question:

Acts 4:31
"After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly."

This took place immediately after Peter and James were released by the Sadducees......after healing the crippled man at the temple. My question is this:

This seems to be at least the 3rd time in Scripture that the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. The other 2 I can recall are in Acts chapter 2 (Pentecost) and John chapter 20 when the resurrected Christ "breathed" the Holy Spirit on them. Was this again.....a special moment reserved for the believers at the time? It would seem to me as a believer that one dose of the Holy Spirit (at the point of salvation....Ephesians 1:13-14) is all we need.

The raising of children is a vital function in a society, and one that is on the decline in the white western world.
If we are not to be as a race overrun by the muslims, indians, and chinese, then perhaps we should give our straight "brothers" a moral boost?

I'm not talking about a baby being born, or a mountain top view, or even a person with no faith becoming a believer. Those things are all beautiful and are, in their own way, evidence of God's creation and prescence in the world.

I am asking about whether or not you have witnessed things that simply defy the laws of physics or science. These would be things that simply should not happen in what we know to be the real world.
